It's clean for a 63, send this off to CAC.
I’ll ask you the same question that I asked the previous poster who suggested that - since the owner doesn’t think the coin will receive a gold sticker, what’s the upside?

I suppose I'll chime in here since I also said to send it to CAC. I see the coin as much better than a 63 based on my guess, so on that alone I would send it. Of course, I don't have the coin in hand so I can't tell if it truly warrants my assigned grade, or a 64 for that matter, but if the value of a coin in a green CAC vastly exceeds the value without (I need to check prices on this), then send it. There is also the matter of the chance of JA disagreeing with @DelawareDoons and giving it the gold sticker. The probability of this event must be weighed into the decision to send the coin to CAC or not. Basically, it comes down to a risk and reward scenario with the green sticker being your baseline.

The value of a CAC 63 doesn’t begin to greatly exceed that of a non-CAC example.

Well then based on the in hand opinion of the OP, there's probably no need to send it.

In this case, an important consideration is that the value spread between a 63 and a 64 is quite small. Our bullion trading division currently charges approximately just $50 more for a 64.

I wouldn't be surprised if at cac it gets a gold sticker.
I don't think the luster (or copper spots) are there for a gold bean. Sure gonna try though.
It won't get a gold bean, but it should go to cac, agreed, if it was mine I would leave it in the holder as is, jmho.
If you don’t think it will get a gold sticker - and I don’t either, even though it looks like a 64 to me - why send it to CAC? What’s the upside?
I'll two for one these posts.
CAC saints are getting nice premiums right now. Probably a $2300 coin as a green 63. With an outside shot at a gold bean (sub 5%, I'd say) and huge upside, why NOT send it?
This is why CAC is flooded with volume. The expected return on the "investment" of time/money to send to CAC is almost always positive for coins worth $200+, as a collector member.
I'm also a touch OCD and most of my old holders are CAC, so I'd like this one to join its friends.

I collect old holders, and thats the reason I bought this. Well, and the fact it looked nice. Saints are getting harder to find in fatties in grades that aren't 60-62.

Let's say I think this coin has a 1 in 50 (I think its probably closer to 1 in 35-40) shot at a gold sticker. I pay shipping costs both ways if it doesn't bean, which will cost me ~ $4 since it's gonna go with a pile of other stuff. I think it's almost a certainty that it green beans, I'd put that at 9 out of 10 times.
Green sticker adds $100 or so in value, gold sticker probably adds $500 or so in value.
So the expected value of submitting this coin is (($100x.9)+($500x.02)), or $90+$10, $100 total EV.
I'm paying at minimum about $4 to send it for a $100 expected value, or $20 if it does hit, for that $100-$500 value add.
Logically, I should sub every dang coin like this... and I do. The numbers dictate my subs.
