New Purchase! 1700 Shilling NGC MS65!

Just wanted to share this beautiful piece! I am currently working on putting together a set of Shillings, one for each monarch. I am slowly getting to the really tough ones like James II and Charles II. Hard to keep the quality up across the board.

I just sent it off today for cross over so crossing my fingers.

If you'd like to see the rest of the set you can see it here:

https://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/british-type-sets/british-denomination-type-sets/british-shillings-type-set-circulation-strikes-1660-1966/imagegallery/214858

If any of you happen to come across a coin you think would suit the set please let me know!

If y'all just want to share some nice shillings you have I'd love to see them as well.

This is the shilling I always think of when I am deciding whether to bid or not. Sets a high bar haha. Lovely example I remember you sharing it here previously.

“High bar” is well put. The eye appeal of this coin is stunning; color, reflective surfaces, sharp details. One of my collection favorites!
Good luck and have fun building your set.

    Amazing coin!

That sucks. It's a spectacular piece regardless.

It did not. I am mostly just confused. Trying to figure out if they know something I don't know.

These photos are incredible! What’s a reliable source of prices on 17th-18th century British coins? What are the good vendors to look into?
