Witter Coin U - Anyone Here Suggest It?

More and more frequently, I've been seeing this pop up on the forums.
The websites that I've found consist of a list of what the dates are, application, and instructors. There's not much on what is actually being taught except for a brief mention of pretty much every major topic in numismatics somewhere there. My big question is, would anyone suggest applying for it (next year as the deadline for 2022 is over) and does anyone have any inside knowledge as to what would be taught and the depth of the information? I'm assuming it would be something like the ANA's Summer Seminar?
I've never been able to attend something like this for numismatics, so I think it would be a really great opportunity. What I would really look forward to is actually meeting other YNs.

I suggest that you contact Seth, directly. From what I’ve heard and know of him, I also think it would be a great opportunity.

Here is a previous thread and possibly someone to ask about it.

Reach out to Seth directly. He is really active on Instagram every day. I did message him once about something and he never replied. I have posted questions on his posts before without a reply as well. That said, you being a YN and reaching out about Witter Coin U is different. Heck, you can probably just call his coin shop.

I’ve known Seth and David for years, and I think this program sounds like a great opportunity for learning and networking with other up and coming YNs. I donate to it every year. I also recommend you reach out directly to Abby Zechman- she is involved in both Summer Seminar and Witter U, so she can give you the inside scoop and what to expect from each and which might be a better choice for you. She is a YN who was elected to the FUN Board. Her IG is #an_abby_original_
And of course Seth is always available and willing to talk to any YN.
At one point he posted that he does not reply to direct messages on Instagram. So you likely need to contact him a different way (maybe email?).
@SethChandler can you help FlyingAl out, he has questions about Witter Coin U.
He is extremely knowledgeable and would be a great opportunity to learn about numismatics.
Oh, wow! That sound like a great opportunity and I would like to go there sometime. I can't this year, though, because I have a family vacation. The website says 40 YNs, is there a contest or random selection or something like that?

There was an application to apply. This year was already filled so you will have to watch for next year's opportunity.
This.
As to the comments regarding IG, I don't have an account and I don't intend on having one. I've seen how much time my friends waste there and I'd rather put it somewhere else, but that's my opinion. I think emailing Seth would be a good option. Thanks all for the advice!

Wasting is a matter of perspective and goal.
Some coin dealers are actively selling coins on IG, including some forum members, so if you are a dealer and view it as a channel for reaching customers, you may have a different experience than others.
Agree. Just reach out to him! He's @SethChandler here.
There are people with 10K followers for Coin Accounts on IG. I know several YN Dealers that are hustling on IG and Facebook every day. I have two IG accounts, one for my photography and one for coins. I have been able to conduct plenty of coin deals on IG. Yes, many kids waste a lot of time on IG with their selfies etc...this is very different. There is the sharing of knowledge, the networking, the finding coins...IG is a great tool. It comes down to how you use it. The owner of the #1 Set of all Mercury Dimes sets is active on IG but he isn't active on here. If you want to participate in a LIVE Friday Night chat with Seth Chandler and other YNs, it is going to happen on IG, not here. It seems most of the Witter Coin U participants from last year and this year are on IG. Seth is always posting updates about Witter Coin U all the freaking time on IG. If you want updates about it, deadline announcements, that seems to be the place he does it. The different grading services are also active on IG.
So, be sure you are avoiding IG for the right reasons, not the wrong reasons.

If you attend, please be sure to post your experience here and relative value provided. It is very useful for others (YN's and other collectors) to know of such resources. Cheers, RickO
@FlyingAl is a great example of a YN who is using all the tools at his disposal to become an expert numismatist. @SethChandler Take note of this YN, he is going to be somebody important in the hobby.
Could be a pilot. He did not choose the name CoinAl.

I don't know the details, but if Seth's behind it, I'd think it a good opportunity. I first met Seth at the 2005 San Francisco ANA. We were sitting next to each other at the PCGS table doing their grading contest. He introduced himself and invited me to his box for the A's/Tigers game that or the next night. I don't remember much of the game, but I do remember having a great time being in a box with a bunch of seasoned numismatists for a few hours.
I figured I'd update here one last time: I attempted to contact Seth here on the boards, his shop, and through the Witter Coin U Page itself. I staggered each method one week apart, and was unable to get a response by any method.
I don't have any more ideas of how to contact anyone with ties to Witter Coin U, but I'm not sure I'd continue trying with the three failures above. I suppose there is a point where continuing to try becomes an annoyance for all involved, and I think I've reached that point here. Thanks all for the help though, it is much appreciated.

Sorry to hear; some people are just bad at replying.
When the application process was open, he was calling and talking to the people that were selected. It seems the best way to learn about the program is connecting with someone who went (they are all on Instagram).
I believe @YoloBagels is one of the people who is also on here. Maybe he can help out.
I did not read all the above so if this is a repeat, forgive. Did or have you tried the application at Witter U?
It also has an email for questions.

Yes, this was the first place I tried.

@FlyingAl I dont know Seth or what he teaches, but I think that you may already know the things he would teach to a YN. You have a considerable amount of knowledge so far. It would be like a high school student going to elementary school from what I have seen. I could be wrong here but it seems likely that you are armed with that knowledge already. I wonder if there are any advanced classes available?

Great info on IG!
I'm up to 144 followers so I have a lot more to go to hit 10K!
Sorry to hear that as well.
Hopefully @SethChandler sees this and can respond. He's logged in recently.
@FlyingAl this year’s Witter Coin U happened just last week. Since it sounds like you’ve researched the program, you know how big of an event and production it is. I’m sure it’s extremely hectic for Seth and team in the weeks leading up to it to get everything prepared, and in the weeks following to catch up and to prepare for ANA Chicago—I believe you said you’re attending that, so why not stop by and meet Seth in person?
Nothing is as expensive as free money.

@PocketChange
I believe it was someone else who said they were going to the ANA, I unfortunately am not going. I do understand how hectic it can be, thanks for pointing that out!

I've taught the last 2 years and we work together as the instructors to help choose the applicants. We hope to accept applications beyond the IG community next year, but I can try to answer your questions or try to give you a heads up on the application process next year...
