Not many triple dated errors out there. Post yours if you have em ...

thinking of dates on errors, have you seen more than 2 different dates on an error? one of the most interesting to me, from several years back, at a coin shop with a great group of guys, if not onery, tested me to see if i could detect this mangled error coin that ended up being dual denom and dual dates, at least.

Yes there are a few coins out there that were struck with two different years. They are extremely rare and expensive.

this is a snazzy multi-struck/brockage?
my brain is struggling a bit to reconcile the obv/rev with all that twisting and turning and struck-through other flan(s).

if you ever have access to some playdoh or the like, put some in your hand and squeeze. (if you do it enough, you'll get the curl)
there are some youtube videos of people squishing the crap out of things with massive presses and you can see this effect on a wide selection of the poor items being turned into pancakes. i'm kinda shocked we don't see it more on error coins like this.

What happened in 1965 at the mint, equipment malfunctioned, employees malfunctioned, poor quality metal? Seems like a lot of 65's with 2 and then 3 date coins.

1964 and 1965 was an incredibly busy time at the Mint because of the composition change in the silver coinage.

Do you think these errors occurred because it was "an incredibly busy time st the Mint?"
Or because there were people in the business of producing intentional errors by the handful during this time? 🙄

Could be either. Or both. They may have accidentally produced them but intentionally removed them. They were having production issues

ha. nice. been a while since i seen a decent multi-multi-struck here on the forum.
i do recall a handful or so over the years with 10, 20, 30+ strikes others have posted here. i remember each time seeing one thinking, "man i'm glad it's not ME that has to count them all!"
also the ones that have like 20+ coins all stuck together with dates showing. i'm gapping the name for this error type just now.
@LanceNewmanOCC -- these don't all have the dates showing, but it is 33/34 planchets bonded together. This coin was probably helped out of the mint by a worker, though.

is this the order you think?
It not a brockage, it is an indent on a struck coin. The blank planchet that caused the indent would have a brockage on that coin.
Yes that is the correct order of the strikes.
Are you selling this coin?

Just curious cause it's on eBay also
Yes.
I can not post a link tho.
I just wanted to share a great photograph of a very cool coin.
Very cool 😎
Dang Slick, nothing escapes your amazing powers of observation.
Oh thanks boss,,,& no disrespect intended sry if that was spoken wrong

I just shared the image with Google image/lens but it said image

I do not know.
It does look like the second strike cupped up and somehow it got pressed down.
Throw a coin enough times, and suppose one day it lands on its edge.
That's a first for me as well

Now let's find a double struck Norfolk with 6 to 10 dates...
