I typically seek out half eagles in VF or better, but will make exceptions if the coin has really nice eye appeal or is particularly interesting. I really like the look of this well traveled 39-C. The coin has nice color, and the wear is smooth and even with no major distractions. I especially like how bold the date and mintmark are.

Congrats and glad you like it! It most definitely has a coolness factor to it. It’s not my cup of tea but if we all had the same tastes things would be very boring.
That’s one I’d try to buy if I happened upon it in the wild. ……. Coinfacts says it’s the only 4, the lowest graded, next lowest is a 10.
Remarkable that the coin could get that much wear and still straight grade. With that much wear you would think it would have been damaged.
