The PCGS Promise
The PCGS promise is founded on these brand pillars:
Value – PCGS provides added value to collector coins through our leading numismatic knowledge and consistent adherence to our grading standards. Then we negate that added value by accidentally not sealing any of the graded coins in your submission. They're probably actually worth less now than when you submitted them on account of them just flopping around in the box during that shipping you paid for. "Value".
Security – PCGS commits ongoing resources to holder and label technology to ensure collectors of PCGS-graded coins are protected by leading anti-counterfeit features. The only flaw in our foolproof system would be if several people failed miserably at their job and sent out a bunch of graded and slabbed, but not sealed, coins. If something like that were to happen, there's no telling what some unscrupulous person might do with them. Thankfully, you'll probably never find out. Your kids might, at the reading of your will when they say "Hey, you know that coin Dad was always bragging about? It's a fake, man! What a jerk!"
Education – PCGS provides unparalleled education of how things work in the real world. When you're young, you're told you can do anything, but as you grow and mature, PCGS will be there to remind you that the little guy doesn't really always win. They basically never win, actually. The Rich get richer and everyone else gets what we give them and likes it. Not what you'd hoped for? Sorry kid, that's life. Did you even read the Terms of Agreement when you were born?
The PCGS personality is that of the accessible, well-spoken expert. While PCGS expertise has been earned over decades of experience handling, authenticating and grading coins, we are willing to share our knowledge to grow the hobby in simple, easy to understand terms.
The PCGS mission is to foster the health of coin collecting from generation to generation of collectors. This is best done by adhering to our promise and pillars, while communicating our brand identity through a consistent personality. I didn't even edit these last two paragraphs; this is the nonsense that PCGS is actually trying to sell people on.
