My $40 Silver will be over 100% more than paper spot (although premiums may still be in place for some stuff)

I'll be thinking it's groundhog day again. How many times back under $20? The gutter never disappoints.

I do like 90% junk in the 10x range and those $300 ASE rolls. RGDS!

I might be wrong, like I often am lately (LOL), but I doubt we ever see 300 USD ASE rolls again. Even with silver at $20, ASE rolls are over $600 currently.

Premiums have been dropping across the board. ASE premiums will eventually come down too just like they always do. I know some will say but this time is different. It never is.

That APMEX single ASE premium is currently at a 71% premium (plus shipping) and climbing. Wake me when it starts coming down.

When spot is at 5 and ASEs at 15 derryb will still proclaim victory. Look at the huge premium he'll say. Hes so smart. Lol

Factoid: The higher the premium the higher the victory over spot and the COMEX. LOL

Premiums are about more than price. They are a reflection on those who try to control spot price, . .

. . . and those who try to defend those who control price. LOL

The decline from democracy to tyranny is both a natural and inevitable one.

My PM stacks are worth a little less right now, but are all 100% profit.... So, I don't care. ;) Cheers, RickO

  • Premiums must come down before I jump in at $20 or less spot.

  • derrybderryb Posts: 36,110 ✭✭✭✭✭

Premiums are likely to keep rising until spot price rises. Pick your poison.

Need proof? Take a knife and scrape big X on both sides of your precious ASE. NOW how much over silver spot price can you get?

Bought 10 rolls of ase for 155 and hundreds of engelhards for little or nothing over spot but mostly own junk. The only silver I bought in last 12 years is junk and mostly walkers and mercs! I am going to buy 10 more gold buffs soon. Got to get rid of some more of this phoney money before it's totally worthless! Gold and real estate is my game! Now to get me a big bowl of popcorn and watch the show!

It does seem that way lately, but history shows that such "inexplicable" anomalies tend to get ironed out before long.

Looks like we hit the mark... silver now below $20 per ounce.... at least for now.

If it holds below $20... might have a further drop on Monday/Tuesday after a 3 day weekend... frequently seems to happen after a 3 day weekend.

Below $19.00 & continues to fall. Smart money would wait until prices begin to rise and not try to "catch the bottom." A lot of bleeding hands in this forum trying to catch a falling knife.

One things for sure; I'm grabbing all the junk silver FDR dimes/GW quarters for my albums I can while the getting's good! You might say I've caught the silver fever! It just so happens that my late wife's all time favorite Christmas special was Rudolph and we all know what Yukon Cornelius was looking for (at 3:32)!

Well in my case silver is all I could ever afford...even if the gold bubble REALLY burst and the price crashed all the way down to say, $500/oz it'd be way out of my price range :(

From what I can see, the premiums being charged on 90% "junk" silver, have not gone down with the substantial drop in the price of silver.

    Why?

I know you're going to have heck to pay trying to get the premium when u sell.

Spot will have to exceed your entry point.

Even I bought at too high a price, I will dollar cost average on the way down.

I'm definitely proud of the silver I've been able to collect so far (especially FDR dimes and GW quarters)...unfortunately I am of very modest means (SSDI only) so I can only hope that silver stays low long enough for me to add as much as I can to my collection before it goes back up!

I definitely think I've caught silver fever!
