The FUN show is usually held in Orlando and I'm able to spend a day at it each year because we have a timeshare at Walt Disney World. My avatar (not a picture of my home) represent a peaceful retirement life.
For Icon: Marillions album "Seasons End" was when Hogarth replaced "FISH" as the lead singer. And when fall changes to winter is my most hated time of season changes as I hate winter. So the "Seasons End" Snowflake from that album is my choice!
And for Handle: My Grandfather, who's name was Steven, taught me many things during his lifetime and I admired the man. My Mom gave me my middle name as Steven in respect for him. So I just go by Steven and the 59 is the year I was born (1959)

Been a Tom Petty fan for 40 years and probably picked it after attending one of his concerts. In retrospect, Refugee would have been a better handle but Breakdown was always one of his best concert songs.

It's a term we used in the computer industry (mainframes) when someone brought brought zero expertise to solving the problem at hand. Kind of derogatory but when someone was labeled a jafo everyone knew what that meant. In this context here it just means that I observer more than I post.

Before they were banned here in California, I had a collection of .50 caliber rifles. At the time, I believe I had one from every manufacturer that produced them.

Here in New Zealand, we have a similar term for people from Auckland: JAFA. Not generally used by Aucklanders themselves...

Hmmm, were your guns confiscated???
Good question. If memory serves, we were given the choice of selling them before the ban or registering them with local authorities. I chose to sell mine.
Ricko, BillJones and PerryHall were already taken when I showed up...I figured I would use the name of my company. 2 years ago the name officially changed due to a merger, but I will continue to represent the now defunct entity!

Had the privilege of working with Willie K as sound man/ roady. 80’s. Maui is #1 for sure. Spent 6 months there and then traveled with him on the silver circuit ( Reno -Tahoe-Las Vegas) and quickly wound up in SF
Willie K and the Warehouse Blues Band was the last I saw him. Blues from the Top. Winter park Colorado.
He passed a couple years back and Hawaii truly lost an anglic voice and a master of the Ukalali and guitar
Memories of whale watching and traveling the Hana Hwy.
Peace my brother. 😉🙀🦫
I live on an Island and used to draw and paint on beach stones! And sold them at craft fairs and in little trays in local stores all over the Island! I estimate about 5000 of these handcrafted stones sold and still have people coming up to me asking about them! I even painted one for Walter Cronkite back when he was alive! I often asked people what they would like on a stone (Onastone). Here are a couple I did for fun, just pen and ink.
@Onastone I really like that ship. Looks a lot like scrimshaw.

Gorgeous work. Your first one reminded me of a thing that was going in around Tacoma (where my brother and his family live) back sometime pre-pandemic, where we would see painted rocks out on trailheads, in the park etc. It was called "Tacoma Rocks", and had some legs on social media for people posting finds and also discussing painting and planting rocks. We participated in putting some out as well.
Your second one almost looks like scrimshaw on ivory. Fascinating!
Wonderful looking pieces ... thanks for sharing!

The beaver is magnificent. We’ll add a screenshot to our collection as I’m sure it’s probably not available. If ever, please PM and we can go from there.
Nice work. My brother, rest his soul, would do scrimshaw on anything he could find ivory. Old piano keys ( he’d peel the thin slabs of ivory off the wooden keys! Elk teeth and scrapes recycled from odds and ends.
I’ll find an example and post it. 😉🌋🦫
