It is pretty, but given the obverse fields/contact marks I'm surprised it graded that high. It also appears that at least the obverse die was over-polished as the detail under the ear has been reduced to "field" in appearance. That reminds me of some War Nickel dates which were struck from such over-polished dies that member @solid coined the term "Floating Head" variety.

I think grade is accurate compared to other graded Proofs I have seen. If you want a really Gem example, you have go to 66 or 67.

Would the coin benefit from conservation? I see spots & haze on both sides. Nice price jump in pr67

Looks like the Obv has some cameo traits (some mirrors and head contrast). The rev looks normal

The Trueview photo shows the color of the coin very well. In hand the color is muted. Rotating the coin under good lighting results in different looks for the coin, including one where the obverse just shimmers in light reflected off of the surface.

Contrary to Maywoods' comment about contact marks, the coin shows no such marks (or hairlines). What Maywoods sees as contact marks is merely toning.

PF66 is a conservative grade for this coin and I can see it one day in a 67 holder.

Thanks for your comments about this coin.
