History of top four grading services?

Possibly someone in the know could fill in my gaps of knowledge of the history of PCGS, NGC, Anacs and Icg. Both PCGS and NGC started in the 1980s. Anacs emerged before them. ICG came in around 2000 and then changed ownership some years later and moved from Colorado to Florida. Mr. John Albanese was with NGC I understand around its time of formation. Thanks for the help.

I can not get it to post. But at the previous link if you copy and paste the title into the search box, then it will show up as an option. Select and it is part two.

Interesting history thread.... Thanks for the links and commentary. Cheers, RickO
This would be a nice analytical project.
I am a big picture overview see it all on one page kind of guy.
If you could make a spreadsheet grid with history (detail page) plus a summary graph page showing number graded, number on eBay, etc. that would be fantastic.
On the graph you could have a paragraph insert with history overview. On either summary or detail (or both) I would show fee structure.
I would only do this for the 4 TPG accepted by ebay: PCGS, NGC, ANACS, ICG.
Excellent read.

You got the link to post. Would not post for me earlier. Also when I just now did a quote of your post it did the same thing and said comment would post after approval. That link does not like me.

My rough estimate of PCGS and NGC on ebay and in the market is 50/50 on classic certified coins, with a higher percentage to NGC on the moderns. On ebay, for the four services over the years, Anacs has sold more than ICG, but not sure on proportion.
On history, Anacs and ICG have had changes of ownership, the latter has had more changes, with a completely different crew running the Colorado operation many of which went over to Anacs when it moved from Ohio. ICG's move to Florida involved a completely different management from what I know.
What about PCI?
They represent a significant percentage. The question I would have is why people were sending coins to them? Anacs was good and inexpensive, efficient for many years. If you needed money grades you sent coins to PCGS or NGC.
I got this coin from a dealer who had a large PCI collection in their "gold" holder, probably accurate:
