Magnetic War Nickels

Apologies, I’m unable to find the original thread. Thank you to the Poster for the discussion! Went through the bag of war nickels (large crown royal bag) and didn’t have any. Now I have to ask my kids to look through the other bag I gave them. My kids are in their early 20’s and have always had an interest in coins. Fun family interest!

thread 1 ?
thread 2 ?
I tried to do a search on it but only remember that it was in the last couple of days.
Click on the links (thread 1 and thread 2) in lancenewmanocc reply to go to the threads. If I recall correctly you may need a 'strong' magnet to use on the nickels.

Thank you @lilolme it was thread 2!
.
if you are doing a search for something recent 1-12 months, there is a place to change those search parameters. for recently threads, i HIGHLY recommend it. make sure you type the date the way the format shows. since the search results do NOT sort chronologically, it really helps refine the amount of unnecessary returned results.
if the search feature were updated, i would post significantly more older threads. (amazing ones and more often)
You should be using a powerful magnet, not the average magnet. The one I used is strong enough to hold several pounds horizontal, though much less when vertical.

One of these rainy days I will pull out my hoard (
) of war nickels and see if any are magnetic. Not very valuable, but an interesting anomaly. Cheers, RickO
