American Silver Eagle 1999

I just recently found a couple of American Silver Eagles from 1999 in my grandmothers closet. They seemed to be mainly untouched, just not stored the best. If anyone wants to chime in at a possible grade I’d love to hear it. I’m really bad at estimating grades since I’m relatively new. Either good or bad, I’d love to have them added to my small but growing collection.

67 maybe 68 depending on the hits on the sun. Nice toning.

"Not stored the best" might be the reason they have developed some toning, which is a plus for some people.

    Congratulations
Silver Eagles are very, very popular around here!
99 was the year my wife and I, bought our house.

Thanks! Yeah there are a couple of small dings on the second one she had, but that ones toning is even more pronounced than the one I posted. I didn’t post any pictures of that one. I’ll definitely get some in the morning.

That’s great! It’s always nice to hear good memories like that. I’ve never seen these coins in person, and my grandma completely forgot about them haha. But they are really nice, although, Morgan’s will always catch my eye.

    Thanks everyone for the info!

I do not collect these at all so I will not estimate/guess at a grade.
However, there appears to be contact marks on obverse at W in We and behind the foot.
Also on the reverse appears to be something going on in the letters from L in silver to E in one.

Full obverse and reverse pictures - straight on - will allow us to give you a good grade estimate. Cheers, RickO

So I got some new pictures of the one posted above and a few of the other one.

With the milk spots and black specks, I would say MS67/68. Its just worth the bullion value and a small premium as ASE are selling above spot.

I would agree with the above, unless the toning progresses nicely. Then there might be a premium.

That’s fine if anything I would just grade them for my sake at some point. Still great to have them even in the upper 60s. Thanks everyone for your input!
