2021 D Morgan: Damage or Strike Through?

I have a 2021 D Morgan that I believe is either damaged (scratched) or has a strike through. What do you all think? Two photos, same coin, different lighting:
Thanks for the thoughts!

Regardless of what caused it, that is an extremely unfortunate location to have it right in the middle of the design elements.
Strike-thru the D mint coins had quite a few.
I am thinking damage because when blown up the edges look to have raised or moved 'metal'.

But this is not anything that I have been involved with.

Here’s a hotlink from our forum member robec with a strike through in a different area, but also only on the Denver version:

Yes it's a Dmint. I cant believe they were released like that....insanity.
Yours makes 14 different that we’ve counted. Not coins. Coins with different types of “conditions “. All 6 of the releases guilty and problems reported on obverse and reverse. Yours is not the worst. Ms.M has friggin milk spots that don’t react to the normal treatment. Another had Blue thread that’s stamped into the coin.
I’m really sorry. If you bought an unopened mint box you probably just “got” one. Now if they were just in OGP I guess it’s possible that someone who’s selling these hasn’t heard about the problems. I just don’t think so.

Looked like a scratch to me based on the first two photos as based on the edges of the gouge it seemed something was dragged through it.
Still seems somewhat like that based on the blow-up additional photo.
@J2035.... I voted for struck through.... looking at the magnified images, I do not see evidence of a post mint hit. How did you get this coin? Direct from the Mint? Secondary market? Cheers, RickO
It was part of an open box sight unseen bulk buy on the secondary market.
@J2035.... Thank you, and that means it 'could be' PMD. Cheers, RickO
Here’s a copy of 13 eBay listings, all graded as MS69 with strike throughs, ALL listed for big bucks. Sounds like you got lucky in a positive way! So what will you do with the extra money after you get it graded and then sell it?

I see a lot of eBay listings but not a lot of sales. Next step will be to submit for grading to confirm strike through but would like @ErrorsOnCoins to weigh in. I also indicated to the seller that I was unhappy about undisclosed damage, so probably stick my foot in my mouth and apologize.
Best photo I can do:
Yes, I see it. Perhaps ask him to refund your money and shipping cost to get it back to him once he receives it back from you, instead of sending it for grading?

@J2035
Your photos are way better than the Ebay seller.
Here are his blown up some. Can blow them up a little more on screen before they distort to much. From what I can see they appear 'smoother' on the edges but again this in Not anything I am involved in. Hope this helps either way.
Also some of the struck throughs the Ebay seller has are not string like.

based on this new image (thanks for brightening it up) i say strike-through and probably highly desirable since it is a new coin. BUT i think we need even better images to say with 100% certainty.
Okay I see it now on that last photo as having been struck through something not retained.
Thanks for the thoughts - I need to take the ANA photo seminar. I’ll try to get some better photos later today.
Would love to get @FredWeinberg opinion as well.
Just saw this – looks like a struck through to me – the photos aren’t the best and I don’t like the lighting but it looks much more like a strikethrough than a scratch
Thank you @FredWeinberg and everyone else! I made another effort at pics:
Interesting. The pictures are making it look smoother at the edges each time.
From the OP second photo (after I expanded it)

.
Then the updated photo
.
And then the photo above (which I won't redo here)
.
This is a photo from an error reference as it describes what I kept asking about - the smooth edge look.
As I understand (and maybe not correctly) the edges are smooth because anything above the surface of the coin would be into the die when the coin is struck. Unless the struck through debris damages the edge as it was exiting. Does this make sense? If not, then I am still missing something. Once again not my normal thing.
That is why the initial photo looked like damage as it appeared to me to have metal above the surface. But maybe what I think I am seeing is not actually there. Sort of like when images invert on you (particularly those close ups with letters or something).
Interesting. I will keep checking back.
Thanks
