Modern Commemorative 1982 half dollar coin label mechanical error, or another fake label/slab.

This coin was recently added to several Modern Commemorative Sets as a 1982-D MS70, which moved it to the top ranking as these have been nearly impossible to find in true MS70.
It looks a lot like a 1982-S proof at first glance. Is this an extremely rare Denver mint uncirculated coin in MS70, or is it a label typo?
IF it is actually a proof and the label and certification number is inaccurate, then the label certificate number should be invalidated.
There is a risk someone could pay a lot for a rare population MS70 coin label, when the coin is really a PR70 1982-S half dollar commemorative which is very common.
Currently 2 of the 1982-D MS70's are now indicated in the population reports after 40 years. Do they really exist?

If that's an MS70 Denver coin, I'm an NFT of a monkey.

Cannot make out a mint mark.... Checks out on the site... Two listed MS70....Cheers, RickO
Dunno if this helps, but I have these, 82-D MS67 and 82-S PF69. TVs linked. The S is a little "off", the D is more full, in these TVs anyway. But the Proof has the cameo effect, the MS decidedly does NOT.
This is a proof and the label should be voided. Contacting PCGS can fix this.
Yes, true MS70s of this date exist. I think there were a few threads on them, you can use the search feature to find those.
Coin Photographer.
I did ask PCGS to investigate this first thing because it is unfair to the rest of the commemorative set registry participants, but it takes time to get any answer.
The other first find MS70 PCGS certificate #24290098 for a 1982-D half was later revised down to a MS68. This second one is probably a proof.
So, are there really 2 graded MS70 by PCGS that are still confirmed? I am not sure all the population reports get fully corrected when these mechanical errors show up. This coin in MS70 is such a condition rarity it should be worthy of a special mention at PCGS.

The mint mark should be just right of the mane.
Great catch, goldminers. I (along with more than a few) have been obsessing over a true MS70 for years and it always seems to good to be true.
I am relieved to report that PCGS confirms that you are not an NFT
PCGS has invalidated the certificate number, but the registry sets have not been revised at this time. The registry folks are looking forward to some additional help from a new team member who starts next week.

And here we go again. eBay listing the same looking fake. Proof coin in a MS holder, and now invalid cert. I did report it.

I reported to eBay and also told the seller this is a proof, but it continues to be listed and bid on. Someone is going to be disappointed. I wonder now if several of these were created somehow as fakes to sell, (not a mechanical error by PCGS)?
