There is a link to look at the two 1970 D dimes. I would love for you to take a look at the 1970 D dimes and let me know what you think. I appreciate it, I see on one, two deep grooves at the top left hand of the flame, thick mint mark, the stem is missing on the reverse, along with either doubling or thicker lettering on UNUM. The in god we trust looks like doubling. ejection doubling on the Liberty as well as the date.

Spenders, not a chance on earth they're worth anything above face value. Mintage : 754,942,100.

  • Hey thanks for letting me know.

I think they look like totally normal dimes. Do they not look like totally normal dimes to you?

Instead of posting a vague question like "let me know what you think", maybe you could share what YOU think, and maybe someone will agree with you?

  • I saw that the reverse of the dime was missing a stem along with some what looks like strike marks on the lettering on the front.

Ok, now that you gave a hint of what to look for, I see the missing stem. That's sort of cute. Someone might be willing to give you 20c or maybe even a dollar for the novelty.

I have no idea what you mean by strike marks. I still see nothing noteworthy about that one.

  • I was looking at the notch on the Y and the D being filled in above the year, part of the I is missing, the thicker marks on the E, R, T and Y, The 0 On the date is thicker on one side, like it was unevenly struck.

It's amazing how much information can be given if more information is given in the beginning!

  • I apologize, I am new to this forum as well as finally sorting out the coins that have been put aside. i completely understand what you are saying. Again my apologies.

The 70-d does have a reverse of 68. Your dime does have that look but I do not know all of the PUP.

  • Thank you, I did read about the reverse being of the different year. I appreciate the info.

Stating what you see, and believe to be unusual, when you first post, is the best way to get constructive feedback. All part of the learning process. @Jlefkowith143... Welcome aboard. Cheers, RickO

  • I totally understand. I thank everyone for responding and also for helping me. I also appreciate the guidance. Since I am new I was unsure of how much to post, when It 1000% makes sense to give more info on what I'm seeing and explain so others can correct me or give me more info.. Thank you to all...
