If you’re truly new at this, and sincere, I would recommend only buying coins certified by the better known companies: PCGS, NGC, ANACS, and ICG. Also look at a site like numismedia for retail pricing. Start from there and learn, learn, learn.

Can't say for sure but the holder doesn't add any value.
@FredWeinberg give it to me straight, what's she worth?
I love you all ~Spec ✌️

Worth about a dime in that holder

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
I don't think a collector would attempt to purchase that coin, but it's possible you may be able to get about two dollars, which quickly dwindles to nothing after shipping. You'd have a much better time spending it as ten cents.

You might as well keep it in the holder as a memento of your learning curve. Hopefully you will look back at it someday and smile.
Your dime is worth 10 cents.

i may pay less on principle.

Why not. You have to factor in the time and effort it would take to crack it out.
Let's start from the beginning.......

For the love of God, don't buy any more coins until you learn how!

I have been one of the harsher critics of your antics.
Tell you what... I have some older (last 5 years) Red books...
If you DM your info to me I will send you one for free.

Clearly you've never seen these holders. My fine motor skills are severely degraded, and it wouldn't take me five seconds.
I purchased a quarter in one of those holders at a price where any mint state would make it a bargain. I didn't get a bargain.
Study the Redbook, see if there are any coin clubs in your area, look at the grading resources online (here and elsewhere). Have fun, learning is a big part of the hobby. Cheers, RickO

i wouldn't even desecrate my trash can with the remnants of one of these turds nor tarnish the stellar reputation of my esteemed tools to remove the unfortunate ensconced united states legal tender.
