That is more LIKE it! 2nd of Box of Twenty, the King of Morgans

moursundmoursund Posts: 3,207 ✭✭✭✭✭

With the coin being more important than the "good price", I splurged on another try at a 93-S Morgan.
(Returned the other one, that had unattractive toning stripe across the face).

This was more expensive, but is a nicer coin. I LOVE IT!

Nice for sure. Wholesome pocket carried and commerce used dollar there! But, isn't the King the 95p?

Usually the 95 is called the King, but the 93-S is the king of business strike Morgans.

Love this coin. You always want something that's attractive and looks good for the grade - and that's especially true on the keys.

Maybe the 95 p is the emperor of Morgans.

That's a pretty wholesome looking example for the grade. WTG!

Smart move finding an example that you really like and not settling! You will be far happier in the long run. Congrats!

I like the new Morgan "King", its got that circulated cam appearance.

Smart move leaving that other one behind if the toning strip bothered you... it would have always baothered you when you looked at it and decrease the good feeling of having an 1893-S Morgan!!

It's all about what the people want...

Yeah, comparing with PCGC photograde, the NP looks at least as nice as F12. Not planning to send for possible upgrade, but great to have a "good for the grade" example, and (in my opinion) exceptional eye-appeal.

Now I want to carry it around in my pocket for a week or so, so I can fondly admire it. But what if I lose it? :astonished::wink:

    NOT a pocket piece, IMO.

Well, it would be in a jacket pocket, still in the slab, with only softness surrounding.
But I think I leave it in safer safety.

I do remember seeing the other one with the stripe and some back and forth with the seller. Thumbs up.

Seller refunded me, and relisted with a better picture, and AN EVEN HIGHER bin price

Congrats on the pick up! I, too, got my first 93-s this year. Your coin looks great for a vg10, kind of that circ cameo look, has no distracting digs often found on many examples at that grade level. I like it, thumbs up and enjoy.

Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
