Guess the Grade 1856 -O Seated Liberty 50 Cents

Hi all,
I was asked to do a Guess the Grade. This coin is one of my favorites for the subtle hints of color. Its on my 7070 Type Set and was graded by PCGS. I agree with the grade, I'm hoping its not too easy. I'll post the grade on 5/6 later in the evening.

XF45 but too many small marks in the fields for my taste.
I’ll go with AU50.

I like to guess early before too many have gone before and I'm influenced by peer pressure.... that said I'm going with 50 since that was my original thought. Eye appeal is super imho so maybe it's been bumped up to 53 for that.

My guess is XF45. I like the color on the reverse.

Cool toning on that half, I will guess 53

Gut said 45, but the eye appeal is AU quality
Nothing is as expensive as free money.

53 or 55 because of color in hand.

this one does not resonate well with me... I am in the 40-45 range. I know that reads harsh but don't be angry with a candid thought

I am torn between 45 and 50, but I don't collect these.

53 here! Nice coin!
If it was gray it would probably be a 45, but I think the color and eye appeal bumped it to 50.
The reverse looks solid, I'm thinking 53.

AU50? Nice color!
Gosh I miss the ANA split grading days for this one... AU47.5 lightly cleaned details secondary toning.
It's a 45 to me.
I would say a 53. I'm not a fan but to each his own. Good luck.

First impression AU55, it has the right look.
I like the color too - 55
Thanks!
I’ll post the answer in 2 days.
If there is more wanting I can post a few more coins. 1 a day to not spam the forum. I’ll take full resolution pictures. Btw if you want to you can open the picture in another frame and enlarge it more. Picture was a crop from a full frame DSLR. I could go higher detail but it’s overkill.

I like the coin as a 50, for what she is. Could be one more or one less, but 50 feels right

I waiver between 45 and 50.... my first thought was 45 though, so I will stick with that. Cheers, RickO

Au 55 and it's a nice coin 🙂
I did some analysis, the max is 55, the min is 40, the Median is 50 and the average is 50. Based on @Catbert comment, the grade will be revealed later tonight. Thank you all.

Like it as a 50
Many successful BST transactions with dozens of board members, references on request.
This thread provides a good example of how money is made in raw numismatic coins (this one is slabbed but the grade and not yet revealed). Most of the collector's comments reveal that they are too liberal in grading. Buy as XF ... sell as AU.
50+ or 53
i was gonna guess QC cleaned but since you say it is graded and your favorite, i would be clearly mistaken since we are guessing what it IS not what we think it SHOULD be and from the images make it look quite cleaned to my eyes and retoned.
if that is carpet, i have to go with ambient light which gives odd looks to coins and makes them kinda hard to judge surfaces where coins like this, is a major determining factor. i guess even if it is on a rag/towel on a desk it is the same thing.

let's see if this helps speed things along!?!?
