My Top 5 Coins (when stranded on an island)

I decided to share my favorites with the additional qualifier that these would be coins I'd take if I were to only have 5 coins from my collection to keep if I were stranded on an island. I'm at heart a type collector so to keep my interest I'd have to have coins that represent history, beautiful designs, some color, along with some quirkiness to keep things interesting. So here it goes:
Coming in at # 5 - A no motto gold eagle - PCGS AU58 CAC purchased from CRO in 2018. I love the simplicity and St. Gauden's artistry here.
Then at #4 would be a big ole bust dollar (PCGS VF25 CAC) showing a busty lady liberty to help feed fantasies and to stave off loneliness on the island. This piece was purchased from W. David Perkins at this years winter FUN and I like the surface originality.
Hitting the middle of the pack at #3 would be this coin from our eminent bust half nut @lkeigwin (PCGS MS62) who graciously sold me this colorful and screwy early half in 2021. This is a coin that could be stared at frequently and be rewarded.
And of course this coin comes in at #2 simply because I enjoy the arrows surrounding the eagle and might inspire prayers for some aerial relief for resupply someday so I won't starve (PCGS AU58 CAC). This is from Robert @RYK who kindly sold this to me in 2012 after beating me out from buying this coin from Mark @MFeld in 2010. I love the old time colors and charm:
Finally, if you're still with me, coming in at the top of the heap at #1 would be my Fugio (PCGS AU50) purchased from CRO in 2017 given I love early copper, the legend of "mind your own business" seems apropos when isolated and it is well centered, has perfect coloration and planchet, and even provides a visual inspiration to build my own sundial.
All of the above aren't rare and anyone could acquire, but they're all special to me in one way or another. Thanks for reading and I hope others will do their own top 5 in a new thread on the forum!

You show good taste, whether you're stranded on Manhattan or Gilligans island. Peace Roy

Excellent. Makes me want to get stranded on a desert Island.
All of those are lovely. That fugio is sweet, and the others all have something special going for them too! They'd all fit nicely into one of my boxes of 20.

Terrific coins and a very nice selection from across US numismatics. I enjoy hearing the acquisition stories and why those examples are important to you.
Awesome coins and great stories! Each coin is a perfect gem for the grade. Love threads like this and hope to see more!
Wow!!! I would like to be stranded on the island with you as those coins are super nice. We can use mine to shuck seafood or open coconuts!

I like your thinking on them
Very cool and a fun take on the top 5 list!
Nice batch of five. I'm not a bust half dollar kind of guy, but I think that 1814 looks some kinda cool.
Awesome set of coins! My favorites are the CBH and LSH, I am a sucker for rays!
If I were stranded on a desert island, I'd want a large silver coin with deep mirror proof surfaces so I could use it as a signal mirror to get rescued and get back home to play with all my other coins.

If I were stranded on said island, I would prefer five of those chocolate candy coins, and please make them as large as possible! So tired of coconuts!
Love the 1907 Eagle posted above.
If stranded on a desert island, I'm not thinking about coins.
More like food, water and Mary Ann or Ginger?
Hopefully not Wilson.
Very nice 'special' coins. I like your idea....I may even try to add five of my specials. I will have to think about it... two come to mind immediately, will have to round it out. This thread should get legs if others add to it too. Cheers, RickO
Nice coins and thanks for the shout-out. My fav is probably the bust dollar.
I like them all. The fugio is a very cool coin!
