I saw this toned peace $ listed earlier and

It had a start price of $100, then ended and relisted and sold for $600 from a zero feedback seller. I'm not saying anything is wrong but wow on the sold price.

    $600?
Why not.. its not like your going to get another opportunity to buy on just like it anytime soon.. 👍

Agree. The way some toned dollars sell I thought I was going to see a much higher price. I wondered if straight graded and auctioned if it wouldn't bring somewhat more. I am not a buyer but if I was I would keep as is.

If it straight grades ms then definitely it would likely sell for mid 4 figures. It's difficult to tell the nitty gritty on this coin from the pics shown. At the sold price, it will cost about $700 plus/minus with all the fees associated to find out. Def a risk vs. reward if there is no return option..

Agreed, and I think it should straight grade. This is the closest cousin to it that I could find on Coinfacts (PCGS 65):

Cool holder. Back from the day when banks gave gifts. My grandmother used to get Morgans. Best I ever got was a toaster in the 1970's.

Beautiful coin worth every penny at multiples of the amount paid. Toned Peace Dollars are very rare. This is beautiful rainbow toning.

I agree these are rare for liberty peace dollars - if it’s natural, that is.
I collect blast white coins because I want to try and capture how they looked right after minted, but that is just my uncirculated coins, I also collect some circulated coins and then of course I love good toning. Incredible coin - thanks for sharing

I think you're all overvaluing this Peace a bit.

1, You have to get it to straight grade. This is a PITA with peace dollars, I have several that are NT and they won't grade despite multiple trips. Infuriating.

2, The coverage is incomplete, and honestly, not that great. The shifts are minor. The one pic showing max color is exposed as hell, it probably looks nothing like that in hand.

I think $600 for it raw was very fair, and would peg the value post-grading (assuming it's a 63-64 like 99.99% of these) around $1k tops.

Here's the best two pics from the original listing. If it grades, it looks 63 to me but could get bumped up for aesthetics.

    Not a fan at all.

Looks dipped with 2nd skin toning with burnt luster and MS62 details with a questionable color in its future. Not all toning with non-nefarious origins is good enough for NT or MA. I’ll concede there is a market for those but not from my dollars.
