What color would this be classified as? It’s a beautiful coin!

I would say it would be RD (red) or just barely RB (red/brown).... Cheers, RickO

Pretty much a coin flip between red and red brown, I would guess it would get the red brown designation from a TPG. A very nice album coin but not one that would make sense to submit.

I agree with RB, but does anyone color designate circulated Lincoln Memorial Cents? I'm not being sarcastic, but I am serious. I have seen NGC label low grade wheat Lincoln cents and Indian Head cents as BN even in G and VG grades.

While there might be some exceptions, I believe that the default color designation for circulated copper coins is “BN“.

Did I get surprised. I thought the same. But going to pcgs pop report for Lincoln cents there are many showing for RB and Red for circulated grades. There are even some for G4 Red??? So I am thinking what am I seeing wrong.
Here is the page and at the top for totals it indicates 7 for G4 RD. Can also go down into the specific dates and the first is 1909 S VDB with a G6 RD, then the 1911 D with more. This is on the page for grades 0 to 35. More on page for 20 to 58. I don't get it. Tell me what I am doing wrong.
