Now that the ice has released its grip on northern Maine the loons have returned to confirm the arrival of spring. What a sound they make in the early morning, throughout the day, and especially in the darkness and dead of night. Let's see some coins and birds.

We have packs of coyotes around here and they make one heck of a racket during the evening and in the middle of the night. Sometimes, I go out on my back porch and yell at them, which makes them usually move on. or howl with them, which they don't seem to care about.

I have a cardinal pair that is hellbent on fighting another cardinal pair in my truck mirrors. They've even escalated to attacking anywhere on the truck, chrome, the hood, all windows, etc that they can see any semblance of a reflection. I put out feed as a peace offering but still no joy. Pretty birds though, just too eager to throw down. Thankfully they don't seem to actually damage the paint or other surfaces.

Well, it’s a medal and not a coin, BUT…. it’s the nicest Eagle I’ve seen! This is 2 oz .999 silver, 39mm wide (about the size of a Morgan/Peace/Ike Dollar), almost 1/4” thick, and shows the name of probably the most desired Cult wine from Napa Valley!
