I took a $10 risk on a bunch of proofs, it went well

KurisuKurisu Posts: 2,027 ✭✭✭✭✭

Tooting my own horn lol. This felt like one of those deals we talk about from decades ago lol
...I won, with shipping a bunch of proofs cost me about $1 each!!!

I bid because this seller doesn't sell many coins and looking at the fairly blurry photos I thought a couple of the proofs looked interesting. Especially since the seller was definitely NOT trying to make them look great lol.

Some of the proofs are almost perfect and some are just barely impaired, but I am SO happy with this little purchase!
It's been a while since ten bucks brought me this kind of coin satisfaction

I believe I chose...wisely...

A buck a piece for some nice looking proofs. Low risk bet with lots of enjoyment for a payoff!

I will disagree with the crowd. It looks to me like a bunch of common date proofs that are worth no more than what you paid, if that. The only way proofs like that have any value is if they are slabbed by a major TPG and have exceptional color or cameos. I don't see either element being present.

Wow, is all I can say after this comment. I think you did good, $10 for 10 proofs is it good deal. Some may think that a good deal has to be a special coin, it's all in the eye of the beholder. Nice find, I would have pulled the trigger on this deal to.

I hear you...but I've got multiple orders with our host now.
There are in fact a couple of these that are likely worth grading. Probably not the two pictured but those two beauties caused me to risk my $10! It was either this or my monthly lotto ticket and scratch off lol.

Considering if I sell one of these coins for $10 or 2 of them for $5 each, then they were free. This wasn't an investment (though it may turn out to be an ok one) this was some seriously satisfying coin fun that's somewhat rare these days

    Congrats @Kurisu on your find.
$10 doesn't buy much of anything these days and you are happy and excited, therefore I am happy :)
