Hi guys,
Went to the bank to ask for any Half Dollars?
They said, "Yes, we have 30 customer wrapped rolls!"
I said, "sure, I'll take them all".
Little did I know?
Every roll were various Kennedy dates. From 1971-1976. NO Silver. :/
Still, these were in awesome condition! I have yet to examine closer and decide which ones to keep to maybe send in? I'm telling you guys, some of these are really high grades.
Here are a few pics.

These edges are so crisp, you can almost get your fingers cut!
:D
They're many 72d's and 74d's to check.

"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!

Correction: They were high grade until you let them scrape together. I’m not being a jerk but if you were to cherry a variety or superb gem worth submitting, you’re causing the coins to incur additional surface blemishes.

That one picture reminded me that I really like the wide rim of the 1971-D. They should have continued that.

Just think somebody might have rolled those roughly (or gently) almost 50 years ago. Very cool Joey, you're always keeping us entertained here, thanks!

Is there a market for Unc. Kennedy's from that era?

Went through them. Unfortunately, only about 10, were worth saving.
    I'll post later, thanks. ;)
Maybe, a 73 ddo or two?
When placed under my scope. The true hidden ugliness showed up in most of the 30 rolls.

    Thanks guys.

In PCGS's price Guide. Yes, I realize about the guides. Lol
    For the 1971d in a ms 68

    $3700+

The 1976's are high as well.

... but what about the great majority of Unc., unslabbed coins? Does anyone currently pay a premium that is large enough to justify bothering with them?

Yep, and $3700 seems like a reasonable price since one sold for $3120 three years ago https://coins.ha.com/itm/kennedy-half-dollars/half-dollars/1971-d-50c-ms68-pcgs/a/1296-3837.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515

but MS 67s go for $50-60.

I'm a little stymied by lack of information here.

The '73-D's are nice and not mint set coins. this is not unusual to find these in original rolls. Millions were set aside but after all these years most have been returned to "circulation". The '71-D appears to be a substandard and tarnished mint set coin. This is a little odd for these to be found in conjunction. The first implies that they were taken to the bank on the advice of a coin dealer and the second that the owner knew something about half dollars.

A lot of better modern coins just go into circulation because dealers don't keep up with the markets, don't care, or through happenstance. Better varieties tend to be far higher grades than others of the same date implying they were found and then lost again.

Two years ago the '73-D's were hard to sell. They'd bring $18 but finding a buyer was tough. Most people would have been well advised to just spend them (after checking for Gems). Now they are much stronger and there are more buyers. It is a very common half roll because there are so many mint set rolls and people coincidentally sets aside more than typical, in part because quality was good. Half dollars were still used in commerce a little in 1973 though it was about to fade.

Lots of '71 halfs get into circulation from mint sets. These are often tarnished but not often substandard in other ways. Coin dealer still cut up mint sets and put in the cash register though just not so many as when they were plentiful and more and more are checked for varieties and Gems first. Prices are so high on the sets now that all of them can be shipped though some dates aren't worth the trouble unless you have a lot of them. The '71-D is in demand but I doubt most buyers will accept batches of tarnished sets and most are.

There is a demand for non-mint set moderns and the services seem to grade them higher.

I was hoping for more information since I can't even be certain these comments apply here.

But a lot of lower grade moderns have been hitting the banks for many many years and it seems to be increasing with the firming prices. Essentially the demand is for nice attractive Uncs and anything that falls short is being dumped because very few moderns have a premium in MS-60.

Few months back I was considering roll hunting. My bank had 2 rolls of halves, all of which were 71-78 and nothing special. Harder trying to re-roll them than my arthritic hands liked. It was like my first try and I got someone’s searched and returned coins 😂
Wasn’t for me but it did lead to what I needed.
A new direction from friggin ase’s and mint offerings.
Now I’m doing a Roosie dime album, twentieth century type set and coins with beavers 🦫 or beaver mentioned, as Beaver Falls!
    Here’s a half size

That's odd. This doesn't appear to be a mint set coin either.
