Looks fine by me, perhaps cleaned at one time.

Possibly, yes. Also appears like it was once in an old ANA holder? Those little slabs caused tarnish very similar to this.

It looks authentic, but was almost definitely cleaned at one point. It appears to be retoning nicely, but not enough to straight grade. At least not yet. Throw it in a craft envelope for awhile to speed up the toning process.

Do what Brian says, just before I did, which means I agree.

I don't know if it's the lighting or what, but the details look really defined to me. Is it a proof? Don't knock me as I don't have or look at these that much.
Nevermind, looked it up and didn't see any S proofs. Still looks nicely struck to my unknowledgable eye. Lol

It is shiny for a non proof.

    Cleaned, AU or Unc details.

It certainly has unc details, I see some luster hugging the devices and of course the devices are frosted, which leads me to think it may have been polished in the fields. I may be wrong, much depends on the ability to examine the surfaces properly with good light, changing angles, etc.

That is a nice Trade Dollar.... Strange tarnish pattern, especially on obverse. Looks as if an old dip was not neutralized and rinsed properly. Cheers, RickO

Some more realistic pics. Not the best photos ever. Looks more like the coin does thou. I think there was too much light on the other photos.

Is it me or does the zero in 420 look larger than the 4 and 2?

While it looks to have been cleaned, it is genuine and a high details grade ... and it does not look like it was severely damaged in the cleaning process. The kraft envelope that @BustHalfBrian and @Soldi suggests (window sill, sunny side, flip bi-weekly) might bring this to a market acceptable point given some time.

Cleaned and obvious intentional retoning attempt.

Like Trade Dollars, big and historically significant.
