Statesville, NC show report

The Statesville NC show was last weekend. Saturday and Sunday. We got in to set up around 3 and we're done around 6. The show is in the same location as the Iredell-Statesville club show that happens in August. This show was the first time it was held in the late winter early spring. It was about 2/3 the size as the club show.
Saturday started with some brisk dealer to dealer sales. With this being the first time this show was held here this time of year, there was alot of talk about how good attendance would be. Well I must say when the doors opened at 10 there was a ton of people waiting to come in and they poured through the doors. It wasn't long before the room was filled. Lots of customers that came by our table had lists to fill and were ready to look at and buy coins. Large cents through dollars seemed to be popular, so in other words people were looking for a little bit of everything. The brisk activity seemed to continue into the afternoon, and slowly tapered off by the shows end of day. They also had a YN program and class set up across the hallway for any young collector. It was a great first day. Dealers I talked to were surprised by the amount of customers who came in the door.
Sunday started slow as most shows do, but soon picked up to a nice pace for a Sunday. Again alot of people had lists they were looking to fill.
Bullion was hot. Silver and gold was being bought and sold all day long. Eagles still had a steep premium as well. Currency also seems quite popular at this show as well.
This show is well run. Clayton and Bill do a great job advertising, making sure there is good security, and making sure the dealers are generally happy with everything going on.
For those thinking of coming to the next show there, they have a good mix of dealers. US coins, foreign coins, ancients, paper money, bullion, exonumia, supplies, and ANACS.
A great show that we are looking forward to doing again!

Thanks for your report.
Collectors want in-person shows. This is another example of a that kind of demand.
Thanks for the report. Brisk attendance bodes well for the hobby!

Thanks for the show report. My observations at a recent show I attended match yours. Silver bullion/90% was hot and marked at a premium. People are taking advantage of in-person buying again.

A couple of my customers made the trip over, and they enjoyed it very much and pretty much stated above. Bill (whom I have known long before coins) because we were both in the manufactured housing industry years ago) and his nephew clayton are great guys. They have done a great job in improving this show circuit in this surrounding area. Clayton actually lives a few miles down the road from me. Anyway, I would like to attend sometime, but I have to run the store on sat, last few have been busy, both buying and selling.
@COINS MAKE CENTS... Thanks for an interesting show report. Seems coin shows in general have been doing really well... Everyone is glad to get out and see coins again. And bullion continues to move well - understandable given the geo-economic situation. Cheers, RickO
Nice report, thanks for posting.
Missed it this year, first time in a while. Thanks for the report
