Yep, but didn't remove it from the photos.
Please note that the seller is honorable. He replied to my earlier message and said he had revised the listing, removing the altered date 1944-D. I thanked him and told him I’d let the forum know. Edited to add: after seeing the above message, I’ll tell him the photo is still showing.

He sent me the same message, so I agree, he is honorable. I figured he might be when he gave such large photos of the coin. Most sellers that know the coin is ingenuine, do not provide such quality photos that allow discovery.
