Grade revealed, with some other info- GTG, Early Walker on its way back from FUN Show Submission

My first True View from one of my PCGS submissions.
One of the slightly more common early dates, but still scarce at this grade level.
Back story later, GTG if you want.

Nice coin Greg!
That's hard to judge from the picture. Send it to me with the grade covered and I'll guess!
I know the backstory and the grade, so I will just say that it is a lovely coin with an interesting history.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Nice WLH. AU58?
Nice coin, if wear then AU55. Can't tell for sure.

Looks like sum I just submitted three months ago and still waiting. But I’ll go MS-62/3
Hoard the keys.
Looks 58, but probably went 61 or 62.
I don't know the backstory yet I'd guess it was at one time an AU58 and is now an MS(63) grade?

I’ll ship as soon as soon as I receive your blank check lol!
You can send me this one and that 20-d and I will send you a lifetime supply of dog treats and some money.
I am resisting building another walker set but coins like this make it so damn hard.
The grade, to me is AU64

Wow... I was going to say 58 based on the initial images but your 2nd pics show quite a bit of luster and a flat strike... I'll go 63... and very beautiful! Congrats!!

tough mint mark 1917-S date. Usually comes softly struck but Liberty ‘s head is especially weak.
Looks like an AU-64 so I would net grade it a 63.
The fields look very nice and pretty free of significant chatter so I agree that such coin is a good looking coin.

Beautiful WLH and your pictures show great luster. Cheers, RickO
64 shot 64+
This series and early branch mint pieces especially are known for weak strikes.
From Bruce Fox:
Ok, so I bought this coin around 2007 out of a higher grade set where the owner had cracked the coins out, put them in a Dansco, and kept the original slab labels. It was an OGH 63.
I sent it in along with the label, thinking lock 63, outside shot 64. It came back 62! Not a happy camper.
The grader must’ve just finished looking at a bunch of late date P mint walkers or something, so comparatively, this coin with it’s classic early date matte finish and weaker design and strike, didn’t measure up.
Deciding I finally needed to get over my attitude, and suck it up, I resubmitted it at FUN as a Regrade, in the holder, but allowing them to crack it out.
I don’t get it. The surfaces look fairly clean, and there is ample luster. The strike is acceptable at MS grades below gem. MS62 is a ridiculous grade. It also looks very strong for a choice uncirculated piece as well. What am I missing?
He got it back into a 63 holder???
The True Views also look strong for a 63. That’s what I meant by ‘choice uncirculated.’
Good clean surfaces. Strike issue reminds me of the 41-s. For a 64 would it have to have a better strike?
