Does anyone here have an original 40-coin shotgun roll of half dollars?

I’m reading the coin roll hunting threads and remembering the time I received a twenty dollar roll of silver from a local bank. I broke it up and wish now that I hadn’t. I think it was 64’s. and that was back in the late 90s.
I used to do much better by asking for just a roll or two, than with a whole box of halves. That way I would get the home-rolled brown wrappers that were brought in when grandpa passed.

yes, but not worth much
yet rofl
I’m pretty sure those are hard to come by and most are not even aware they existed.
Any idea when they stopped making those?
Around 1979 I went to a bank in Beverly Hills to buy some half dollar rolls to look through.
They only had one roll - a customer-wrapped $20 (double length) roll.
The roll contained a mixture of coins dated from 1978 all the way back to 1917, with a pretty good quantity of 90% silver
I've had several over the years but not now and no pics. Sell them as fast as I get them. I don't think any were other than 64's.

I have a 64-D in my stash of silver

I too have a roll of ‘64 Kennedys.

Kennedys are my quest...
I have rolls of 40% silver coins from a local bank. If I recall correctly, they are 1965 and 1966 rolls, rolled by the bank and printed with their information. I bought a decent silver hoard about 10 years ago and the person I bought from threw the 40% coins in for free (I think I got about 10 OBW rolls). I couldn't take it all and they sold the leftovers for scrap.
I had a roll of $20 halves that was tight and seemed machine wrapped. 68-D iirc. Sold it on eBay for double melt a few years back.

These coin rolls are in an American film:
Coin rolls and paper money in suitcase
The left roll is marked "$20" and appears to be a "shotgun" roll of half-dollars.
The larger right roll might be a roll of silver dollars.

I have this one of 1964 Philly... you don't see them much anymore.

I have a few rolls of halves, left over from when I used to search half dollar rolls. No large rolls though....I keep thinking I will do it again... but just need more time in the days...
Cheers, RickO
I had never heard of a $20 roll of Half Dollars.
Wow! That was a month's worth of lawn mowing back in the day!

I started cutting grass for money in 1968. The cheapest I ever remember cutting someone's yard for was $4.00. Had some that paid $10.00! Perhaps you were using their lawn mower? I had my own. I started cutting so many yards my Dad made me buy my own!
Ahh... I used our electric mower so I didnt have the expense of gas... even though it was only 32 cents a gallon at the time. I was still able to undercut the competition...

I can’t find any kids to work, I have to go to Home Depot if I need some one to help. I never hire any of them but I did try once and they where all gone so just did it myself. Isn’t there one on the BST?
Hoard the keys.
I’ve got three of these double ‘64 rolls. Hard to locate anymore, although I always look for them at major shows.

If you can find the paper rolls, you can make your own.
I have about 2 dozen of the double shotgun rolls of halves. Most are 1964 and earlier, but have a couple from the 70s, including a bicentennial roll. Becoming harder to find these days.
At the Long Beach show in 2019 I saw about the same amount available from a California dealer but did not have the money or I would have bought the entire lot.
Gonna get me a $50 Octagonal someday. Some. Day.
This looks like an original and untouched bank wrapped roll.

The wrapping on the one end isn’t a tight as the other end but looks like it hasn’t been
opened and then rewrapped,
The paper edge from end to end has not been messed with.
This isn’t from a bank but is a company that rolls coins for banks.
I've heard of them but haven't seen any (yet)
