ANSWERED! Difficulty acquiring penny boxes?

Hello, this is my first post on this forum so I hope I did everything right!

I have been enjoying searching through pennies boxes (I have only done three so far) but I have a problem. Only one bank is giving me boxes. I've called and drove to about 15 different banks but besides PNC bank, they have all told me that they only sell to business customers. PNC, which I am not even a member of, has been great but not even my own bank will sell me boxes.

Some banks I've tried: Chase, 5/3, Charter One, BoA, and Huntington.

Am I doing something wrong or is there something I am missing? Any bank recommendations?

Thanks,
Nathaniel

EDIT: I seem to have posted my question not as a question! Fixed here

This is your second thread on the topic, so I'll ask here as well.

What do you do with the cents once you ate done searching them?

Providing boxes of coins to coin roll hunters costs the bank money. Some may do it as a courtesy or part of their customer service, but you're finding out that many don't want to absorb the cost of your hobby.

There are numerous threads in the archives about the dos and don'ts of acquiring and returning coins. Remember, the bank has no obligation to provide you with boxes of coins to search.

Yeah sorry, I originally asked it in the wrong place! to answer your question here too,
I have actually not turned them back in yet, I just poured them all in a water jug, I'll roll them at some point. When I do, I plan to turn them into my main bank where I don't get rolls from. Don't worry, I know not to get and dump coins at the same bank.

I didn't think about the cost the banks had to pay. I tried searching for terms on the forum such as "coin roll hunting" and "penny boxes" but I don't think I searched right. Do you have any of the posts on hand? They'd be greatly helpful! :)

    Howdy and welcome.

Many threads on the topic might use the term "CRH" instead of what you have searched. I also agree that banks incur costs for providing the boxes and many banks aren't asked by a single customer for boxes of coins, but instead by many multiple customers, which makes them quite hesitant to be a turnstile for roll hunters.

    Ah, thanks for your help!

I have found that banks tend to help those of financial means more than the avg joe. I have a couple of customers on both sides of this spectrum , the ones that have strong financial means can get the bank to get them all they want, as the others get the same song and dance you mentioned. a roll or two at most.
