Ever have a soda spill?

Guess what happens when you spill an A&W SF Root Beer on Raw coins and your keyboard?

I don't even want to think about it.
Double ouch.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
Can you salvage anything?

Actually, this happened a week ago and still using the keyboard with no issues and rinsed all 4 Mercs in cold water and patted dry and can find no issues. Luckily, I think, that it was Sugar Free and A&W Root Beer has no caffeine in it. Only thing I lost was my mat.

Had visions of a bad situation. ( Perhaps some salty language)
It’s nice when you win one heck we got a new Matt.
Glad the merc’s were loose been more of a problem in 2x2’s.
Only thing missing was a scoop of vanilla ice cream but just as well this time 😉

Probably split coffee on my keyboard more than 100 times.
3 or 4 died and had to be replaced so my batting average is pretty good considering.
Coca Cola turns copper coins pink. Mainly from the phosphoric acid, I think. I’m not sure about root beer, but it probably is acidic too.

The A&W has malic acid, I bet that would turn copper pink too

Oh, SUGAR FREE soda is actually a pretty good cleaner... just a bit of caramel color to worry about. The phosphoric and citric acid, and maybe even the carbonation, is good for removing dirt, grime, and sticky stuff. Try a little diet coke on hardwood floor...
the only incident i can remember happening (to me) was at a shop while i was looking at some wares on top of a case with more wares in it. my uncapped bottle of water sitting precipitously close to my left elbow ended up coming into contact and knocking it over. it came out pretty fast. THANKFULLY the valuable CURRENCY was inside the case and not on top as i hadn't gotten that far YET. i appreciated their candor in the matter being a regular and all. first and last time i'v ever let that happen.
i've knocked more over since then but they were WELL capped.
maybe it happened once at home a long time ago. don't remember any disasters thankfully.
probably a couple knife scratches removing staples over the years.
Being sugar free at least saved everything from becoming really sticky.

What a sticky situation. Hope for a speedy recovery 🙏
I think it would only matter if you blotted the coins off with a Taco Bell napkin, and left them there...

I have so far avoided such a catastrophe. I am very cautious with liquids around the computer. I am usually using a laptop, so such a disaster would be much more expensive than replacing a keyboard. Cheers, RickO
