Gold/Green/Gold..........sounds like this could get expensive.........but I like the idea!
@Justacommeman I bet you will be a bidder on Gerry Fortin's upcoming auction where there are many gold stickered, gold coins, in OGH Rattlers. Well 8 in PCGS and one in NGC.

Thanks! I looked as another kind member pointed me in that direction. A lot of nice coins but common dates. I have a lot of those types covered in my gold/gold type set but who knows. The other issue is I don't think I'm smart enough to figure out how to bid in his auction. I'm still trying to figure out Vanilla Sky and The Matrix

It will be interesting to see where prices go on the coins. Doug Winter just held a Concierge sale of $3 gold and all 38 coins sold in a couple days. I have a feeling prices will be strong even with all commons.

lovely noop and images! always love the pcgs 5.0 ogh with either green on gold or gold on gold.
is the in-hand image from your tuscany villa?
Agree! I probably won't be pushing these higher. This is my first addition in over a year. Most of the low hanging fruit has been plucked. Now it's just opportunity cost and making sure every new purchase checks all of the boxes instead of just most of them. As for the gold/gold concept right or wrong Im going to die on this hill. It's been a WIP for quite awhile now. Collecting like this forces patience.

Love seeing images of your newps with the nature background.
I picture you at a picnic table deep in some National Park perusing your treasures on a Sunny day.

Pretty cool. The holder adds to the allure.
Very nice old gold... and with a gold sticker.... Now, on such coins, the gold melt is not so much as the collector value/premium. Cheers, RickO
Saw this one on the CRO early bird. John certainly got my attention when he wrote this was "A neat New Orleans issue which is about the most original gold coin of any kind we’ve ever had on the list". Congrats on the new purchase.
love it!
Your coin is a very nice find and an investment as well. I wonder if it was part of the Tennessee Hoard that David Akers mentions in Coin Facts. Having a gold CAC adds to the like as well! Thanks for the nice backdrop as well, no green scenery here Mark.
Love your costumes!
cool coin
I betcha had to wait 2 weeks for it then you runn oft with it.

Oh Brother Where Art Thou is a masterpiece and the coin is all there too. I find New Orleans gold to be a sweet spot in southern emissions. I saw that on CRO early bird I believe, glad it found a good home.

Oh Brother where are thou was so great I insisted my parents (who both grew up poor on farms) watch it with me.
My father’s comment after it was over: It hit a little too close to home.
In any event, Clooney and Turturro were at the peak of their powers.
Oh love the coin, by the way.
