They are fine but as much as I like platinum will pass. Design leaves me blah, price IMO too high and the mintage not low enough. The only one I got recently was the flying Goddess one...
Well, just Love coins, period.
At 5% over melt, I’m in. Until then I will wait.

I will wait for the Mint to make a Second Amendment coin.... Yeah, right... Will not happen. Yet, everything in the First Amendment depends on the preservation of the Second Amendment. Oh well... Cheers, RickO

I had no clue US MINT is still selling 3 & 4 year old products. Why invest in current offers at inflated premiums ?
On the product page enter your year. I’m surprised that 2018 product is available and earlier year or two stuff. The Morgan’s and Peace Dollar are unavailable but not sold out. It’s a fun search.

I got the first one of the series around this time last year - freedom of religion - and plan to just keep that one. The first coin of multi year series always ends up being a key coin - IF the series takes off (which it may or may not) then it will be a nice coin to own. If you believe - like I do - that platinum will skyrocket in costs over next 3 to 5 years then these may become even more desirable. The first one never sold out and had / has very low demand. In my experience that means it’s a potential “sleeper” that will become desirable down the road ... we will see ...

You can't buy anything, bullion related, directly from the U.S. Mint at a reasonable price these days. Even the Silver Eagles that bullion dealers buy have a pretty stiff premium.
I am free to say that the mint is overcharging for their coins.
Given that I got this a whole hell of a lot closer to spot than the American Eagle, why bother?
And for those of you that collect APE, it really doesn’t matter, does it?
I used to also collect the US platinum proofs, but got underwhelmed with the designs, and could only afford the fraction coins most of the time. So I stopped when they went to 1 oz only. More funds to transfer to ASEs, AGEs (fractions, mostly - an ounce here and there), and Buffalos (except for 1 year, only 1 oz).
I guess you’re out. You can’t even buy bullion strikes at 5% over.
Wow platinum is $500 over ounce spot
Yeah, never let it be said that the US Mint is doing collectors any favors.
I knew it would happen.
3703 left and counting...
Seriously, did more than 11,000 actually sell? A bit hard to believe with that markup.
My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
I imagine that might just be collectors who are trying to keep their platinum set complete.
I'm kinda like that with ASEs and AGEs. Its kinda like when I went to the grocery store recently. ... When they ask for payment - "Is $211.75 OK?" ... me = "No, but nothing I can do about it, I want the groceries."
