Another great "favorites" thread. In addition to my 1956 set project, I love collecting unopened material (mostly graded wax packs, and some star racks). Here are a few of my favorites:
This is by far my favorite wax pack item in my collection. It is a 1962 wax pack, graded PSA7. What makes this pack even more special, is that while it is not labeled on the holder it has card #204 on the back, Johnny Weekly. Why is Johnny Weekly so exciting? Well, it makes it a series 3 pack that could contain the Mickey Mantle, card #200.
This is the second favorite pack in my collection. My dad got his collecting bug going in 1971 and used to tell me stories about opening 20-25 boxes of 1971 topps. It was easy to believe him as in the 80s he had probably 30 steve garvey rookies. This is the crown jewel of my 1970s topps pack run.
The last item that has really found a great home in my collection is this 1984 OPC rack pack with Mattingly on top and the Iron Man on back. 1984, to my knowledge, was the only year that OPC made rack packs for baseball. I purchased it at the 2021 National and am very happy that I did!

I believe you purchased the 1962 wax pack from BBCE when I was into my run of 1960 wax packs. I left it on the "Store Shelf" since I already had a 1962 pack...ugh and congrats to you for picking it up!

Monte, ha ha. I do remember us discussing that previously. I'm definitely thankful that you left that one behind for me. I know the 60s packs did not last very long that day!

One of the fun parts of collecting for a long time is you have many... "Gee I might have one of those somewhere" moments....I honestly do not know why or when I bought these, but I guess I kept them (just to show them here)!!! LOL
The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Or the one. Live long, and prosper.

Hey threeofsix,
That’s Pretty Cool on your wax pack of the Planet of the Apes!
Dug out my humble stash of Griffey junk wax. Nothing too valuable, but I enjoy it! Probably will never open the UD foil boxes. Spent too much time trying to find nice specimens to open them for a glut of Luis Medina Star Rookies like I got from the only other boxes I’ve opened. Haha

@hamilton888
I don't know what to like more -- the actual Racks or those amazing Display Cases! Love that Boggs / Gwynn Rack (is Sandberg on the back of that one?)
Thanks everyone for all the trips down memory lane! These packs / racks / cases are amazing!
.
A couple of the Sam's Wholesale Club wrapped 87 Topps, and one each of the cellophane wrapped 89, 90, and 91 test issued poly-wrapper "wax" packs. I've only ever seen these poly-wrapper "wax" boxes come straight out of the case with the cellophane on them already, so I'm assuming if not "factory wrapped", then at least wrapped by the same distributor that wrapped the SWC 87 wax?

I'm not a big basketball collector, but 4 or 5 years ago, there was a lot of 23 1989-90 Fleer rack packs up for sale on eBay. I took a chance, and I won it for around $75-$80 delivered. The first 2 pics are the auction pics. The last 2 were ones that I took upon arrival. One pack had Bird on front and Jordan on back, but the cellophane had a tear in it, so I opened it, which is why there are also loose cards in that old pic.

Lastly, just a couple of shelf pics, including multiples of the Donruss wire racks that were included in the 90 Donruss counter display cases.

Not to Hijack a thread, but it relates to packs. About a year ago I thought I remember some 1983 Topps Michigan Test set packs which advertised who was "Showing" on the front or back. Maybe it's my older set of eyes, but I can't seem to tell anything in the 6 or 7 of these packs I have. Are they using a high power light?
Gretzky,Ripken, and Sandberg collection. Still trying to complete 1975 Topps baseball set from when I was a kid.
.
You don't see the 2006 rack packs very often. Derek Jeter Gold Glove card is on top.
Below the rack pack, that is a 3 card pack of 1991 Donruss from the fun bags.
.
.
5 cello packs with stars showing and then a 6th somewhat hard to find 86 Topps 50 count super cello. No star showing, but I just had to take what I could get based on how "rare" it is to come across them anymore.
.
.
Not even sure what this is. Saw it in one of the booths at an antique store/flea market. I figured, it's Griffey and they just wanted a couple bucks, so I bought it.

Thanks Megellan. The 71s seems to be more readily available than 5-10 years ago. I’ve seen a few pop up.
