When did Lincoln get a shave?

I've been so busy looking at quarters, I completely neglected the cents...saw a really shiny 2021 cent and looking closely, noticed
how smooth Abraham looks. Almost looks like he's clean shaven! Perhaps a haircut too? Compared to this random 2002.

The new cent looks smoothed over.

    Yep... Loss of beard details on that coin... I will have to check a couple... may be just random weak/deteriorated die or grease filled. Great pictures... Cheers, RickO
