1943 DDO FS102 Latest CherryPick and thinking of J.T.

It’s been a while since I posted any finds so I thought I would share my latest pick. I have been organizing my collection a bit and came across some old correspondence, coins, and flips from JT Stanton. It was a nice stroll down memory lane, and to commemorate the remembrance I went cherry picking. Here is my latest treasure, 1943 P DDO Jefferson Nickel in PCGS MS66FS.
I found it based on this image below which was a pretty decent picture compared to many online

Not the doubled eye ddo? Can't tell from the pics.
Not the double Eye, that is FS106. Looks like FS102 to me, and compared with CoinFacts examples of ms67fs and ms66. It is also an identical die pairing to my ms66 attributed FS102. > @bolivarshagnasty said:

Neat find; nice to hear from you.
JT was a joy to do biz with !
Sad to see him break on thru to other side many years too soon
War nickels have tons of doubled dies
Hey Rocco! Nice to hear from you. And a nice luster on that one.
Nice pictures, though I am not seeing the doubled die... cannot tell if lighting or reflection.... Not saying you are wrong, just cannot see it. Good to see you back... Cheers, RickO
Good to see you posting again @Aspie_Rocco
And thanks for the remembrance of JT Stanton and all the good he did for the hobby of variety collecting.

nice coin, but I agree with others .... even if it is what you see, the die erosion makes all the letters wider and they might not give attribution.
Here is a brief text and visual study of CLASS VI (6) Doubled Dies. This newest 43-102 will be the 11th Class VI I have picked for submission to PCGS.
The 1943 FS102 is a Class VI (6) doubled die. Class VI is known for strong or extra thick letters and is a visually different look than earlier classes of doubled dies. IN the Jefferson nickel family there are several Class VI DDO that are CherryPicker varieties such as; 1938 QDO 105 1938, 1939 fs101 DDO, 1943 P fs102 DDO, 1945 D fs101 DDO. These all show a “circus font” as I call it, when the letters and numbers are exaggeratedly thickened. Often the B of LIBERTY has a point or sharpness on the Upper right part of the lower bubble in B

Here is a normal B

For comparison here are a few more 1943 P FS102 class VI
Here is a ms67fs
Here is a ms66+ I personally sent for attribution
Here is my own ms66 I sent for attribution
Here are a few Normal examples. Note the sharp points on the tips of letters like the R and smoothness of the B (on class VI the tips are fat/thick/circus font)

For further comparison here is a 1938 105 and 106

My own 105
My 106
For additional visual references here are more Jefferson class VI DDO from Cherry Pickers Guide 1945 D and 1939 respectively

Got ANOTHER one! Wooo. I like this variety a lot and will have to cross this one over, NGC MS66.
