I've been watching a lot of movies recently, and "All is Lost" starring Robert Redford was excellent, it is about a man stranded by himself at sea and trying to survive in a hopeless situation.
I hated All is Lost. I was dating my future wife at the time and she made go with her to see it. We got kicked out our seats because she bought tickets on the wrong day. We had to sit in the front row. I swear I could smell the ocean. The only dialogue in the entire movie was Redford dropping F bombs whenever he couldn't fix his boat. He's like the only person in the entire film. I almost broke up with her over this movie. This flick reminded me of the summer when my Dad built a shed by himself in the backyard . We all needed earmuffs

Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I also recently watched Prometheus, I loved this movie, it is a prequel to the "Alien" franchise, but Prometheus is about our search for answers about who created us, basically trying to find our makers, the engineers who created the us.

Awesome movie, I also watched the sequel to Promethius "Alien Covenant." I was hoping Ridley Scott would make a sequel to Alien Covenant and finish this story, but I don't think it's going to happen.
Another phenomenal movie I recently watched was "Life" starring Jake Gyllenhaal. It is about a group of astronauts living on the International space station, and they obtain a sample of dirt from Mars that has the ingredients for life in it, and when they start messing with the sample, all hell breaks lose.
"That Touch of Mink" starring Doris Day and Cary Grant is an all time favorite of mine. Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, and Yogi Berra are also in it. It's not a good movie but check it out anyway.....

You seem like a man that could use a good chuckle, might I suggest "Kingpin" starring Woody Harrelson and Randy Quaid.
Another fabulous Doris Day/ baseball film is...
In that one she marries the President of The United States and then they move along through life being happy and winning baseball games....and ruling Earth!

But these movies are so old and outdated, and possibly even boring. Come over to our side grasshopper, I recommend "Terminator Genisys" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, you won't regret it!
One of my best friends ever was a good friend of Arnold. Wally.... Wally was always inviting me over for parties at his place......I was hesitant to go, but the one time I did go.......Arnold was there.......never again.......the marriage couldn't take it!......I knew that before I went.......Party People!!!!

Wow, you met Arnold, you're lucky, I would love to meet him! Linda Hamilton passed by me in a hotel one time, back in the 90s, it was pretty cool seeing Sarah Connor up close in person!
So, I watched the movie "Shot Caller" last night, and it blew my mind how accurate it is. I've watched many documentaries about the California prison system and this movie nailed it, an epic emotional roller coaster about a man that goes to prison and is forced to "clique up" to survive.

I watched the trailer, and I was reminded of another movie. Very different movie, but you may like it ... 🤷 https://youtu.be/kYhn1-Ul7TE
Here are a few oldie but goodies that I've watched recently and recommend.
and some more recent stuff...
Prey is supposed to be the prequel to Predator series.
Samaritan was ok but I'm still not sure how I feel about Stallone with super powers lol.
This one was good too but you really need to pay attention to the subtitles.
If you're into action movies then I'd definitely recommend this one on Netflix. Its also an even better book by Mark Greaney, the writer who took over Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series after his death.

Looks very interesting, I'll have go check it out. Sadly, the California prison system is like that, in my opinion it's the scariest and worst prison system in America because inmates that have to do time there are forced to join a gang for survival and once you join, they make you do things, like killing their enemies, and that gets you more and more time on your sentence and the next thing you know you're doing life and you're in that crap forever. It's a terrifying world to have to live in inside a California prison. The quote in the movie by one of the gang leaders pretty much sums up what it's like in there.

I didn't realize Prey is the prequel to the series, I've been meaning to watch it, I'm putting that on the top of my list, I love prequels!
