Wide "AM" or Close "AM?"

2000D Penny- Would this be considered a wide or a close "AM?"

Close. Only Philadelphia coins were of the wide variety.

Lol. At first, I too thought the same. But looking harder, you can see it's just the angle. Only the shadow (or the darkness) shows that separation. Look at the foot of the A.

For some it's easier to look at the distance of the initials verses the separation of the A &M. But this is a great resource.

if you set aside some years with wide and close AMs (non-valueable years), then you can use them as comparison.
