Unusual for an AU that’s for sure. Early strike, then briefly circulated or shuffled between albums and cabinets, then plucked and dipped, yet still emerged quite striking and special.

I have seen a few AU coins with PL designations from NGC (hence my "across the street" reference), but none from PCGS.
I do agree that the above coin looks like an MS60, maybe even a notch higher. The PL/DMPL fields really magnify the chatter.

I shot that one a long time ago but I am sure that is a PL all day long off they did it for AU's. Great coin pickup.
