Here's an 1851 Braided Hair Large Cent I won for my 2020 upgrade. It's holdered but will soon be removed for the album. What do you think?

Why would you crack that out of the holder? There are plenty of raw ones out there that can probably be purchased for not much more than it cost to grade that coin!

But then I didn't pay what it cost to grade the coin.

Cool thing took place last night. My grandson (8) asked about why I think this one, with some marks, was a clean cheek! I explained about different metals and age of coin being considered.
    I’m so proud, he’s becoming a proper collector 👍🏼
Thanks for the post, it opened unexpected doors 😉

Nice color, LIBERTY and STATES seem weakly struck or possibly struck-through. I think the contact Mark's are consistent for the grade... which I would put at VF30... nice album pickup!

    Very pretty.
Your coin is bringing back memories of when I first started out collecting. Way back, I had found some coins under a carpet in an apartment where I used to work. When we pulled up the carpet to replace, 5 coins were found. A 1847 Large Cent, were one of them.
    Congratulations on your prize, Jim
