An interesting proof Indian Head Cent.

With the discussion on proof blue Indian head cents, I thought I would share this piece. This coin was graded in the late 80's when photo certificates were in color. You can clearly see that the surfaces in the photos on the certificate are blue. Here are some photos I took. These show the color and reflectivity at the sacrifice of that bad glare. If I angle the lights to where there is no glare it looks more like the ANACS photos. This was graded well before the MS70 proof Indian head cent craze about 10 years ago. It looks like many of the IHC I have seen treated with MS70. Someone must've been ahead of their time. I've had the coin about 6 years and it hasn't changed appearance.

That is pretty.

Interesting... I would have expected it to progress somewhat over that period of time... I am glad you have the pictures to monitor it. Perhaps it was 'treated' with some chemical with a lessor active ingredient. Let's see it again in another six years....Cheers, RickO
Very nice!

A lot of ms70 treated coins showing up lately.
This the first one that I have seen that has not returned to its original color.
