2017-W $50 AGE Proof PCGS - Concerns

Hey guys, would you mind taking a look at the picture. I just bought this 2017-W proof on ebay and compared it to my 1998-W proof (on the right). The holder appears absolutely untampered. Under maximum zoom, the face and body appear very rough. Upon close inspection, the 1998 appears much smoother. The verification numbers checks out on PCGS website. Additionally, when I weighed the holder it's 60.9 grams vs 60.4 grams. The 1998 is on the right side. Thank you.

link to the completed auction would be helpful.
I say counterfeit. After viewing listing and other similar listings, too hard to tell. Like madman said, could simply be tooling change differences. A local coin shop might be able to confirm.

Slight design/tooling changes from the mint over the years. Both appear genuine. There would most likely be a huge difference in weight between the slabs if there was a fake (like 8-10 grams difference).
just looking at the ebay auction, that picture looks like one of a real one. holder looks real too.
do not compare different year coins because there may have been minute design changes between the years.

one thing that has changed is the frosting technique. it has gotten progressively worse and progressively granular. it's almost like lizard skin now.
Thank you so much everyone for responding so quickly. I really really appreciate it. Thanks again.
welcome to the forum
@paulpozin ... Welcome aboard. Nice gold coins... Differences appear to be in frosted finishes... Cheers, RickO
@paulpozin
Nice coins and welcome aboard.
On these coins listed, I would not be concerned about the gram weight difference.
Different years, different holders can be a cause of weight issues.
And last but not least, welcome to the forum.
