I have done this. Rather than start a new post on the same subject. Some of the old information in those old threads, still apply just as much today, as they did yesterday.
There are good old threads, and often new or established members revive them to add information, or just to allow further review. This forum is a treasure trove of numismatic information, and old information is valuable. Cheers, RickO
My very first post to this forum was on a 12 year old thread. It was because I was searching online for ANACS slab generation information. I didn't even realize it was an old thread. That's probably why.

When new members open old posts, I usually read them but unless their comments are on topic, I will not reply to them. When an established member revives and old post, I know that there is a sound reason to do so and I will contribute to it.
I also will no longer reply to the posts about their very rare coins and how much do we think it is worth.
To me, these are trolling posts and I will not support the thread.
I believe that many members here should just ignore them and let the post fall away into history.

Good info? Members that are no longer with us?? There are some really good old posts out there!
I would rather have 5 good older threads than 5 today with a new member asking about his rare xxxxx

i sure do miss a lot of what used to get posted, even just 5-6 years ago.
there were people that made some IMPRESSIVE posts.
some of those people are no longer with us and some are banned.
Maybe because we're low on original material.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
IDK. What goes around, comes around?

Revived old threads typically disappear quickly from the first page.
Looking forward to re-reading this thread in 7 or 8 years hence.

I think it's a banned member who has returned with a new handle.
