Anyone ever seen a 37-d three legged buffalo nickel in a lower grade than this? (pcgs ag03)

I don’t like lowball stuff but that’s neat looking.
That just might fit my budget

Neat coin with character.
That nickel has 'bought a lot of beers' ... Definitely seen some commerce. Cheers, RickO
It's strange that the 19 is gone and the 37 is so strong. Is this unusual for well circulated buffalo nickels?

Usually the 19 in the date wears done much faster than the rightmost two digits. What you see on this coin is more or less
typical.

I call that type of coin "rode hard and put away wet!" not very attractive but at least the buff only has Three legs and it genuine.
I would have been tickled to have had that coin in my collection. It is a true specimen of a rarity with actual use. As PCGS has only graded 2 in this grade, it is nearly unique. I truly have never seen one any where near this wear level in my 73 years. Congrats.

I normally don't like lowball coins, but that is just too cool to pass up. All of the elements are there on a rare piece...

This piece is on ebay right now with a $620 buy-it-now price but also taking offers.
I guess the low grade gives it extra charisma.

No, it's not, Perry.
The last 2 digits of the date were strengthened circa 1916 and hold up much better. That's why there's so many partial dates.
Bring up an obverse photo of a 1916 Buff. Look how much bigger the last digit is and your question is solved.
It's obvious that the Mint never fully solved the date problem.

I like it.

I like it. Never seen one that low.

Wow!! A great lowball! I'd buy for the novelty.
Cool
I like it.
I had heard that the 37d three legger was first known in the early 1940ies. People would search for that elusive
three legger without even knowing it was a 1937. This coin really did a good job of staying in circulation and doing
its job for the longest number of years.
