I've seen coins straight graded with coloring identical to that. Questionable means they questioned it this time, but might not the next time.
This coin came back QC as well, so I cracked it and resubmitted it and it came back 64+ the next time. This coin barely has any color at all, so I'm not sure how come the QC'd it the first time.

does anyone have the link for the page that shows how many/much pcgs has in buy-backs for any given period?
i'd LOVE to be a fly on the wall in that room 12 floors underground where no cell phones, cameras, wires or anything are permitted. in fact, i think it is required to strip down to your trousers and get in a pool before anything is said but when they do they talk about rd vs rb turning in holders, toners, spotting, gassing, putty, counterfeits that have came to light in holders, intellectual prop theft, etc etc etc. boy oh boy!
color on copper isn't controversial at all, right? be glad the toning wasn't blue, you may have gotten a sticker back on your slab that looks like this. or this
makes you wonder if they are so concerned about toning on a coin, indicating it isn't stable, why they would even want it in their details slab?
no worries. sub it in a few months, it'll go through.

I like the tone of the coin. It looks MS 64 to me.
I think probably MS 65 RB. Very nice coin.
64 RB would have been my guess, however…

Ahh a monkey wrench. I wasn’t even thinking about the questionable color thing. Ugh.
I wanted to see if anyone would say that… but everybody’s guesses shows that the color isn’t all that off…

Here’s my RB, it’s definitely different, but I know there’s variations…

I was thinking that but haven’t much experience
Yeah, it’s not unusual to see an IHC this color, although the vivid ones tend to be proof examples.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
@asheland SO purple wins

Ouch.
I suspect the MS70 era would be held in high regard in the future. Trend has already started

Looks like an MS70 treated coin that NGC lets slide.

subbing nice toners at the tpgs varies by year.

A friend owns it and I believe he’s sending it to NGC. We’ll see what happens.

Most purple and blue is an automatic Bn if gradeable, but in this case, they must have had a question about the color, i would try it again later
Was thinking 64RB as well. Bummer.
