My Gold NEWP

I have long wanted to own a nice CAC Civil War $20 other than an 1861.
This 1864 spoke to me and wouldn’t stop until I told the dealer “Yes”.
It arrived today. It is a keeper and the new core of my “Whatever I want it to be” Box of 20.

What's the story on the 1861?

The 1861 is one of the more common Type 1 $20 coins and are fairly easy to locate.

Great looking coin and a lot of history there. Civil War gold coins are very cool.

Lot of meat on that 50. I'd have said 53 if I hadn't seen the grade.

Super nice!
Very nice specimen! Now you got me thinking, "I wouldn't mind owning a couple civil war date $20's."
I bet I'm not the only one to think that now.
Throw a coin enough times, and suppose one day it lands on its edge.
Absolutely gorgeous!

Very good looking double eagle!
Really great acquisition. The look has plenty of character. My kind of coin.
Very nice gold.... The Civil War (April 12, 1861 - May 9, 1865) was a significant event in American history - still today has societal ramifications. Cheers, RickO
Thanks for all the positive comments.
I am very excited to be the caretaker of this amazing piece of history for a while.🤭

WOW!
USAF (Ret) 1974 - 1994 - The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Remembering RickO, a brother in arms.
It really is ‘Captivating” . I love this new addition to my set.
Thank you for the compliment!
