My Gold NEWP

YorkshiremanYorkshireman Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭✭✭

I have long wanted to own a nice CAC Civil War $20 other than an 1861.
This 1864 spoke to me and wouldn’t stop until I told the dealer “Yes”.
It arrived today. It is a keeper and the new core of my “Whatever I want it to be” Box of 20.

The 1861 is one of the more common Type 1 $20 coins and are fairly easy to locate.

Lot of meat on that 50. I'd have said 53 if I hadn't seen the grade.

Very nice specimen! Now you got me thinking, "I wouldn't mind owning a couple civil war date $20's."
I bet I'm not the only one to think that now.

Throw a coin enough times, and suppose one day it lands on its edge.

Very nice gold.... The Civil War (April 12, 1861 - May 9, 1865) was a significant event in American history - still today has societal ramifications. Cheers, RickO
