Will the American Woman Quarters Series attract any interest?

I don't collect quarters, but I like these and respect what the Mint is doing to honor the women. I subscribed to the silver set series, which I'll get every year the coins are produced.

That sale reminds me of the presales for the 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars. insanity. I would expect that we will see these for sale again down the road. Maybe the off again, on again uncirculated sets will become a trend

Yes, the 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars were crazy. I know I overpaid because I went through a dealer. Except for the Peace dollar, I had no luck getting anything from the Mint. A most frustrating experience. So, I went with the first dealer to offer the set just to be done with it and get it out of my hair.

Have you seen the tuskegee 3-roll sets? Still selling a year later at close to $300…

I think it will be interesting to see where these rolls are come First part of July. Everybody keeps undercutting in price to get rid of these. Its like they can't get rid of them fast enough.

The S mint is the key here. If you look, very few S mint quarters are being graded. I had not paid the S mint quarters much attention until I wanted the 2020 Samoa Bat quarters. I wanted a full graded set, P, D, S, S, S, W. Why? I guess because I like bats.

Anyway, I could not find a decent PCGS graded UNC S mint. The pops for these S mints hardly break 300 pieces at PCGS. So I started looking for a bag and I was going to submit the best of the group. I missed the big opening day sale at the mint because I always figured I would buy one pre-graded. But by the end of 2020 I was watching the mint and waiting for them to show up available again. I was also looking at ebay prices for bags and rolls. These were selling for ridiculous prices... and still are. One would think demand (and then price) would die off eventually, it's not like they are rare.

Then I noticed a similar trend with the remaining S mint quarters for the last of the NP series. Huge sell outs and big premiums. When the Delaware quarter I was all ready to direct buy some S mint coins and was very disappointed when they did not make any. And now here we are with the women's series.

There is my two bits on the subject. Two years and still going very strong for the S bat quarter... when you can find one.

Not today. I ran the enrollment route and it doesn’t price this item out just 00000. I shall watch and see if it changes. This looks like the standard enrollment for future releases but maybe not. Plenty of time before the next release and that’s Dr. Sally Ride. My choice of the most popular due to her unfortunate place in history.

Dr. Sally Ride was the first female American astronaut who flew on two successful shuttle missions and served on both boards that investigated the two shuttle tragedies. Hardly an "unfortunate" legacy.

I am looking forward to this series. I was able to order one 3 roll set but haven’t been able to obtain any additional in the morning releases. I am surprised at the initial quick sell-out but I haven’t followed the S quarters in the past, so perhaps this is nothing new?

I'm interested in the sales report to get an idea of the uncirculated S quarter mintage. Assuming these don't get restocked (the S quarters generally don't), it's got to be insanely low number produced. No bags were sold. No single rolls were sold. The only way to source them was the 3-roll sets that sold out pretty quick.

So 7592 * 40 = 303680. Would that put it as the lowest mintage Washington quarter (business strike anyway)?

Got my box yesterday from ups which was a first for me and this was the set i ordered in the first few minutes. Later that day I signed up for the enrollment plan and will see if they send another set for that one. This is what i read every time i go there.

    Mintage Limit: None
    Product Limit: None
    Household Order Limit: None

My bet is we all got in the opening day but these are far from being sold out. And i still expect them to start sending these out for all those who enrolled. I have a few of those S bags stashed away and being they were sold 100 at a time i believe these will be harder to come by unless they just keep minting these. Has anyone that signed up for the enrollment got there shipping notice yet?

This is what I saw and thought all of 2020 when I was waiting for the S bat quarters to come back. Never got one.

I signed up for enrollment about a week before release. I got my shipping notice about the time they went on sale. I just picked them up from USPS yesterday.

I think these are close to sold out. It is just over a month until the Dr Sally Ride release. I don't see them minting more Maya Angelou. The S mint at just over 300K is a keeper. Most of the S mint ATB were around 1M. The P and D (while still high mintage) at 83M and 95M are the lowest mintage designs since 2014. I'll be interested to see if mintages stay low and what level of interest there is in these going forward.

I was bummed when I logged in this morning and saw that my cart was empty. Somehow my PDS rolls disappeared from my cart in the last day or two. I was able to add them back into the cart this morning but could not check out.

I’ve had this happen and I was able to find them back in the cart by going to my orders. This can be checked most anytime. Thing is you will have to do that just before ( like a couple minutes) your trying at 7:30 am est. Pull up orders , check cart and if there back up pg by pg until you are at product. Look in cart and should be there. It seems to stay until you leave the website.
    Your results may vary.

IMO they're like the girl scout dollars. Numismatics is a male dominated hobby and collectors are finding any excuse to hate on these quarters, just look at the criticism on this forum and on reddit about the LGF obverse.

Interesting, I had not heard this. But I did by chance look at the order history first because I wanted to double check and make sure I was logged into the correct account. I saw no reference to these being in the order section and they definitely were not in the cart when I got ready to refresh. I know from past experience that if you don't log into your account for a week or so it seems to clear the cart. But normally constant log in activity keeps it there and ready. Oh well, I am ready for tomorrow!

Bought the PDS singles on Ebay, they were from Mint Rolls. The P and D had the usual marks as were all three reverses. The S coin obverse looked pretty good to me. Nice luster on the S also.

If that number holds, then 300K+ for the S roll is a keeper, by far. The lowest S in the ATB series was the Tuskegee Airmen at 843,100. Several other ATB's are in the 800,000+ area, too.

I just went back and looked at the pops and it does appear these will be the lowest minted S they have done. I also saw the enrollment window has closed and they are showing only 7620 3 Roll Set for Sally Ride. It just seems weird and makes you wonder how many dies were prepared and them only making 300K+ coins.

There has been no S coins graded yet showing up in the pops and looks like only the D mint mark has 6 MS 67 coins. P has only MS 66. It also makes you wonder if 7000 people enrolled in the enrollment plan they are going to have even less to offer when the coin comes up for sale. Should be interesting.

It just seems weird and makes you wonder how many dies were prepared and them only making 300K+ coins.>

The average 52100 steel die life for a US quarter was in the 250-300K range back around 1974 (reverse die life > obverse die life). I'm sure things have changed, but I doubt that the die life is significantly less than 300,000 now. (for example, back then the average die life of a dime was about 125-207K, and now it is reported as "a dime die strikes only about 275,000 dimes") (https://www.usmint.gov/learn/production-process/die-making)

Coincidence is possible, but the MAQ and SRQ San Francisco mintages, being near 304,000, suggest that perhaps only one die pair was in use at the San Francisco mint for these issues. Conjecture.

Pops showed up today the S mint coins are hitting the graders. So far 70 MS 66 coins and 13 MS 67 coins have been graded and In the D mint mark only 6 coins have been graded in MS 67 and No MS 67 Yet for the P mint mark. It looks like a lot of the D and P coins were sent in from bank rolls. My second box was shipped yesterday and will be looking at the new box to see the Time stamp as I have seen a few different times on the boxes.
