1937-S Dime - Guess the Grade - Grade revealed in 1st post

I just received the Trueviews for this coin that I submitted at the last Long Beach show. Guess what grade it got? Thanks, in advance, for your participation π
Grade revealed π
I was hoping it was at least a 66 FB but PCGS have it a 65FB

66FB. I wouldn't be shocked by a point in either direction.
Very attractive MS67FB. Love the die crack and die lines, at least I believe those to be die lines. Love the coin. Thanks for sharing.

In the TV the luster looks too low for 67, but I've never felt that TV's are very good with capturing the in hand look so I'm thinking the luster is better than portrayed and it graded MS67FB.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Clear full split bands. Clean surfaces. Great reverse. Die polish lines and a few minor toning spots on the obverse. If it has knock you socks off eye appeal, I could see it as a 7 FB, but I'd need to see it in person.
A 7 has to talk to you under normal circumstances.

Based on the flow lines and shadowing I think the luster is plenty. I thought the obverse fields were too ticked up for 67 but after comparing to CoinFacts I feel like thatβs why itβs a 67 and not a 67+.

I will say MS66 FSB.....Nice dime.... I like Mercs, and I may be a tad critical. Neat die polish lines.... Cheers, RickO
I was expecting a 66FB, like most of you said, but they gave it a 65FB. I wonder if the toning on the obverse pulled it down?
So, since it got a 65 does that make this an βAβ coin for the grade π€

Harsh grade on that dime.

I can see 65FB. There looks to be a small patch of hairline scratches above IGWT . Hard to see in the photos.

The toning is neutral and shouldn't have penalized the grade. From the photos, I suspect the coin might upgrade if resubmitted (possibly more than once), although the lack of a plus grade is a counter argument to that. My guess is that it came down to quality of luster.
Wow! Maybe @charlesf20 could take us to school on this one. In Coinfacts there is a gorgeous ms63 with obvious scratches in the obverse fields. There is also an ugly 67 or two. Apparently there is more than meets the eye.
The grade given does seem a bit low unless the TV is not telling the whole story. Just another example of why I am not a fan of TV's, too often they are not an accurate depicture of the in hand look.

What no prize?
I think that the toning was more of a negative, but I would not have thought that much! Maybe some MS70 and an acetone bath prior to resubmission!
That would be a for fun resubmission for me. Wouldn't worry about the cost on that one. Don't think that PCGS Restoration process would remove the toning. I would just send it in again in the holder and request a reevaluation, if they would do that.
