It snowed, it’s in the teens… in Seattle! Post your best frosty cameos!

airplanenutairplanenut Posts: 22,248 ✭✭✭✭✭

A normal winter day in Seattle is in the upper 30s to low 50s, and probably wet. Hitting the teens is a record low in my going on 13 years out here. After some morning playtime, frosty cameos are in my mind… post ‘em!

And something a bit older…

@airplanenut love the frosty dog LOL. My dogs always loved sticking their heads in the snow.

Sorry I’m in northern Ohio and it’s 55 and raining. On the bright side I only need a light jacket, and the re-acclimation to Florida in a few days will be easy.

@Lakesammman Hate to see you cold in this weather. :/

Many times with the modern furnaces the flame sensor causes problems, it's very easy to clean it. ;)
Google furnace flame sensor cleaning and watch a few videos.

Feel free to PM me if you still have questions after watching a few vids. ;)

Obviously not a big problem in Florida, but we had a similar sounding problem last year. We had installed a high Merv filter for the blower when running the AC, for my wife’s allergies. Turned out it was incompatible with the blower in furnace mode, as the air flow was insufficient for the sensor. The furnace would run for awhile, then shut off. The serviceman said use a cheap low Merv filter in the winter. Problem solved.

Yep, pretty cold and my furnace is on the fritz - can't get the furnace company to respond (Brennan Heating). Fortunately it will run for a few hours with a power off-on reboot.

My Granddaughter enjoyed eating the snow - got a snow beard!

The frosty coin is a DCAM pattern.

Genius me decided 11pm last night was a good time to install a new thermostat. Figured out why it wasn’t turning on the furnace around 2am with a workaround, and then fixed it for real this morning

In the twenty years I lived in Seattle, I saw temperatures in the teens a few times - not many. And a couple of big snow storms, also infrequent. Usually quite a moderate area, though a lot of rain in the winter. Cheers, RickO

Still cold in Bellingham this morning, several miles north. Our local stratovolcano Mt. Baker in the distance.

I can remember 1991 and 1983 with temps in the teens and the thermometer stuck below 32 for over three day.
I was a journeyman plumber then and the freeze up repairs here in Western Washington kept me hopping. Check your hose bibbs every 12 hours.
    Over.
