1965 qurater that’s rusty

Was just wondering about this because I’ve never seen one or heard of it before but I’ve had this for years thinking it was a copper qurater but after a closer loot it looks like rust and the only way that could happen would to have steel in it or buried I’d imagine but looking for any help

    Welcome to the forum! :)

A qurater will look like that if it's buried in the ground for a while.

@Bookey84.... Welcome aboard... Quarters will get environmental damage that looks like rust when left in the ground for some time. It is environmental damage and metal detectorists and other collectors have seen many of them. Cheers, RickO

Especially if they are buried near the equrator. 🙂

It may have been a Beach find with a Metal detector, I have seen those before.

Nothing more than environmental damage. No numismatic premium or interest. Value is 25 cents.
